Who Next?

Maybe someone that asks questions of those ripping all Americans off for drugs:

Taking on big Pharma, that most politicians wont because they receive huge campaign contributions from them:

Ya. Big government did such a fine job developing a vaccine for bat viruses they started a worldwide pandemic. Then, despite "studying" bat viruses to forgo possible pandemics they had to turn to the private sector for a vaccine.

We should definitely nationalize such genius.

Here's an idea. Let's stop being world citizens and subsidizing the entire world with free meds, that we pay for.

True story. around here if you have an average house and it's paid for you're half way there.

MAGATS are always victims though. everything is stolen from them, nothing is within their control therefore nothing is their fault. that's how Trump came to power, he exploited the worst losers by offering them a path to revenge for their own failures.

Outside of the presidential election of 20, what did Trump do that was not America first?
I can list a few of things he did do America first
China and putting a strong tariff on their products.
He got the USA oil independent.
The Keystone pipe line.
The wall between USA and Mexico.
Rebuilding of the Military.
Telling other Nations in the UN and NATIO they needed to start pulling their own wheight.
Social issues let Congress dictate them.
Dropped out of the nonsense Paris Accord saving Americans money

Being a millionaire is no big deal, its not what it used to be.

If you're 50 and have a decent job and some fiscal responsibility you should be one.

Ya.

Had nothing to do with DNC paying him off to not challenge the super majority bull.

Most 50 year olds I know, own 3 houses.

Keep them blinders up in

2016 campaign, available data at the time still had Sanders as the 19th-poorest member of congress, with a maximum net worth of $682,518 and a minimum of $211,039.

vacation home north of Burlington, which the Sanders bought for $575,000 in cash, shortly after the Senator ended his 2016 campaign.

Sheer coincidence in 2015 he's worth $600k.

2017 he's worth $2million, paying cash for houses.

No worries though, he's just frugal???

I don't make near what a congressman or senator make, I own 2 houses.

To be fair, only one outright, just shy of 1 million in equity combined.

Have another million invested in the market, even with the latest haircut.

Like I said, being a millionaire isn't what it used to be, I'll be headed to work Monday.

Actually I lied just then, I get Monday off paid, I'll be back to work Tuesday.

Government job or self employed?

You're a "public servant"?

So you'll be heading TO WORK?

I agree, millionaires ai t what they used to be.

But I never coined the "millionaires and billionaires line.

Why do you need 2 houses? What's the carbon footprint on that?

Why do you need $1 million dollars?

Why haven't you shared that with the less fortunate?

You can't live in 2 houses at once

How greedy can you be?

I cash flow one to the tune of 24k a year renting it, which I have the past 6 years.

I'm assuming risk in the market no differently than anyone else. Though again, in fairness, the way the market is manipulated by favorable legislation, is there really a risk?

I do share with the less fortunate, donate quite a bit to various causes.

Not sure what your point is?

Your hero. Champion of the living wage. Except his employees.

Damn evil rich capitalist
Looks better than minimum wage which Republicans claim should remain at $7.75 an hour with zero benefits.

Glad to see his staffers were paid 36k a year, sick leave, vacation, and health insurance in 2019.

Pretty simple.

Your a rich guy with 2 houses.

You should share the wealth, just like Bernie says.

My son and his buddies make $14hr. Not even a living wage. You should be less greedy, so they will make more.

Pretty simple Bernie economics.

Further. You got a degree, spent time developing your expertise. You shouldn't get compensated for that, same as the pharma researcher, right?

2 houses?

I guess you don't believe in carbon footprints huh?

Cash flow? You mean you exploit tax loopholes to benefit your bank account?
You greedy bastard

$13 hr.

Nice spin

Pharma researchers aren't making 13 million a year, just the CEO's and senior execs of big pharma companies. Most, if not all of whom haven't researched anything but corporate profits.

Any more red herring or are you all out?

The victims are getting tuned up now. they're renting a single wide in a dump trailer park so let's see who get's blamed this time. mexicans, government employees, democrats....spin the wheel and let's see..

Aren't you profiting from that risk you took on that 2nd house? Did you frame it? Pour footings? Wire it?

Or are you just a corporation profiting?

You get credit. You spew stupid lib bullshit, but at least live in Oregon where you pay the price.

Buzz lives in one of, if not the most conservative states in the country. Where he will never get to live by the bullshit he spews.

I wonder why?

Actually it was my first house turned rental property. It was built in 1957 so no I didn't frame it, wire it, or pour footers. I had the inconvenience of not having been born yet.

That's a dumb question the only reason I live here is the hunting and fishing. Politics do not enter into where I choose to live and never will.

I pay a price to live in OR ? how so? I can hunt and snowmobile on public land in every direction. I can be at the coast in 3 1/2 hours and I never have to see Portland unless I want to.

state income tax is 10% and I have a chitload of deductions, we have no sales tax on anything. vehicle licensing is cheap and best of all the jesus freaks are powerless. life is good.

So NO you didn't create it. You're just the investor who is now profiting from it.

That shouldn't be allowed.

And you m betting, you ain't charging rent based off n what it took to build it either, right?

Does that hypocrisy keep you awake at night???????

The safety of not having to live with consequences of your beliefs.

Or have I missed how supportive progressive are of hunting?

I agree if I could have the same quality of deer, elk, and pronghorn tags there, that I have in Wyoming...I'd be your neighbor.

Would be nice if the salmon and steelhead fishing hadn't cratered. Those coastal rivers are pretty spectacular.

No I'm under valuing rent by $200 a month at least. I don't mind, the guy renting it is a nice guy and never misses rent. No reason to maximize profit.

I am depreciating the original sale cost and taking every deduction legal under the IRS tax code. You know, passed by those folks you voted into office.

What part of I prioritize hunting and fishing don't you understand? I'm not a sell out like most people who live in liberal places because they can make more money. Places where they hate living, complain about nonstop, but keep cashing in.

I would live here if this was most progressive, liberal, or socialist state as long as the hunting and fishing stayed the same.

Money is not my priority or I would be living elsewhere, if only blatantly obvious.

Rent in 1957 wasn't $200. So to discount it, you charge more than what it cost to build the house.

It always fun to listen to blowhards who have determined someone else is the greedy SOB.

Difference isn't your lack of greed, it's just the scale.

You already own 1 house. You should give the other to someone less fortunate. Live your principles!!! Don't be a greedy landlord.

Rent it for what it cost SOMEONE ELSE to create it for. Profit is evil, right commrade

Did you build your truck? Your sheet rocking tools? Do you manufacture sheetrock?

Huh, sounds like you're profiting off something you didn't build.

You must certainly not sleep at night.

I still like Bernie, you aren't changing my mind.

The sooner you all realize that all these people, no matter what party they swear their flexible allegiance to. Don’t GAF about you, your family, your business, your freedoms or any of that other chit. The easier you’ll find it to exist. The citizenry of America are nothing more than tax cattle for the uni-party in DC.

You have a point, but nothing is absolute. the dems think they're Robin Hood, but they mean well . you can fault their methods but the intentions, being too generous may be fiscally irresponsible but not immoral. . the MAGATS have ne redeeming quality .

So what about Liz ? would you say she's self serving? her stand to protect our freedoms will almost certainly result in her ousting in the primary because she chose country over party. doesn't that mean something ?

Buzz you're right, no place has the opportunity WY has. though we do have , California bighorn, Roosevelt elk, Columbia whitetail and blacktail as well as all the other north American game except moose. but I'd trade you no doubt about that.

You Like Bernie Because He Might Be Better Than Brandon?
I like Bernie because he thinks people that work 40 hours a week should get health care, a one room apartment, a summer vacation, and be able to buy food and clothes.

I like Bernie because he thinks people shouldn't have to file bankruptcy because they lost the genetic lottery and get cancer, or diabetes, or other costly health conditions simply so a CEO can get a million dollar a year bonus. A bonus for jacking prescription drug prices up 100's of percent a year. I never have been a fan of hard working Americans having to make a choice between either selling their homes to pay for cancer treatments, or keep their home and die.

You do understand the number one reason people file bankruptcy is due to medical expenses/bills don't you?

My guess is you have no idea... probably think it's because people buy diesel trucks and mountain dew they can't afford. You likely don't care, which is pretty much in line with the thinking of people you've voted into office.

I'll give you a break in that you just don't know the facts, the politicians do and just choose to do nothing.

I would like to hunt blacktail there, and possibly Roosevelt elk. Will do both some day most likely.

I really enjoy the ocean fishing and fishing salmon and steelhead just out of the salt.

Some great and diverse country in Oregon, worse places to live, like Utah for example. I'd live in Oregon way before Utah

Nope.

I don't believe I should get to dictate to Dodge, Tape Tech, or Certainteed what their profit margin is.

That's YOU and Bernie who believe such things.

Only that applies strictly to private industry. If I challenge what Bernie, a public servant makes, or Buzz a public employee makes, I'm told a long list of things, all of which sound like "I earned it".

Challenge Bernie's multi millionaire status and 3house ownership, or Buzz 2 house ownership, and AGAIN, "that's different".

Buzz house was built in 1957. I'm guessing he charges 1000x or better in rent than what rent was in 1957. But, again, "that's different".

Like all good socialists, communists, and progressives, there should only be rules, for the other guy.

Last. I missed Bernie's attempt to stop Pfizer, Moderna, J&J from creating vaccines to beat the government caused it pandemic. Showing, big pharma is great, when they bail out the government I guess.

Do you actually believe the crap you type?

You honestly think rent was $1.40-$2.00 a month in 1957?

Not $60,000 a month like your 1000x claim.

But not $60 either, right?

I was told big profit margins were unpatriotic and greedy.

The house cost what it cost in 1957.

Your basing your rent on the market, not actual costs.

How greedy of you

You're making no sense, like normal.

Yup.

Like normal, you have the principles everyone else should live by.

Enjoy your huge windfall profit, and the tax advantages of it. Enjoy your greed.
Meh, I'll pay capital gains tax some day, which I don't mind doing. Same as any other taxes, never mind paying them.

Never has bothered me to pay my share, it costs money to run a country, state, county, and city.

Costs money to develop drugs.

For every one that clears FDA, many more go down in flames. No one wants to talk about the millions and millions lost in R&D for drugs not brought to market.

Bernie's been in office how many decades? Where's the Sanders bill he's got passed to address any of his bitches?

He's no different than Mike Lee. Full of sound bites, speeches. Completely absent on work and accomplishment addressing anything. That takes actual work.

Nobody wants to talk about 13 million a year salaries, spending more on stock buybacks than R&D, jacking prices on drugs to make half a million a year bonus checks, etc.

Not changing my mind on big pharma or Bernie.

His ideas are better than most politicians, by a landslide.

1031 Exchange, Cost Seg, and Accelerated Depreciation, my friend. Kick that can down the road! ?

Once again. Somehow you get to dictate what investors get to make on their investment? Yet, you bristle at the suggestion that the public gets to do the same for you personally.

I missed the criticism when Pfizer, Moderna, J&J were creating Covid vaccines. Where was captain grandstand Bernie then?

That $13 million a year is chump change compared to giving the 3rd word free meds.

As to Bernie's ideas. We are seeing and living with the results of ideas pushed by people with zero PRACTICAL knowledge and less experience right now. The current state we are in is directly caused by progressive policies and ideas. This is what it looks like when theoretical experts are in control instead of practical experts.

According To BuzzH Bernie Looks Good Compared to Brandon!

I Won't Argue That!

But SWEET GEEZUS We've Gotta Have Better Choices Than Them two!

This Country is FUBAR!

F'D!

Up!

Beyond!

A!

Repair!

We won't though.

In not a single position or job, are the best, brightest, most productive in Government.

Bernie and Buzz are about control and "equity"

As long as it's controlling the other guy.

"Rich, greedy" don't apply to guys owning multiple houses. It applies to Elon Musk who doesn't own one.

The real rub, is Buzz doesn't believe what he speaks. His entire career is based on "time of service". He's at the top of the pay scale, top of vacation scale, top of pension scale. But don't question that, he's earned it. He's fine with there being inequity amongst his colleagues, because he benefits.

But no one else should benefit based on knowledge, skill, connections, etc. That's GREED. And as we all know, GREED IS EVIL. But only in the private sector.

Buzz doesn't use a post it that isn't provided by his job, but somehow private folks OWE it to be "patriotic" and contribute.

These guys had lots of good ideas too, but Kermit and Piggy made the show work

Just drove past FS office in Ogden. Shocking, it's closed. Passed 2 hospitals, built by greedy investors, full of greedy doctors, and both were open.

What's wrong with those people, providing a service on a federal holiday?

The greed is amazing

Sounds like the hospitals need a better Union.

Yeah. They need a third party to cut down their effectiveness, stagnate their "record profits" and promote the weakest, slowest, least productive employees. I'm sure their will be a vote tomorrow.
Workers need the right to collective bargaining. That's why workers in the not so distant past had nice things, like pensions, paid vacations, living wages.

The average American worker is screwed by corporate greed. Study up how much money the average worker your age has saved for retirement.

Most will work until they're dead, all for someone else's record profits.

I suspect you're in that camp, probably why you're bitter toward those that aren't.

I'm going to profit " bigly " on hay this year Hoss. I'll bleed every cent I can out of them because that's capitalism. supply and demand.

Just like the oil companies are doing to you every time you fill up your Subaru .

not very conservative of you, what a Robin Hood lib you are. jealous of Buzz's job and my hay crop. shame shame... get Biden to fix it for you it's all his fault.

Not bitter. But a realist.

While your boy Bernie screams about "living wages", his party supports open borders.

Meaning he supports keeping wages suppressed with illegal labor.

His party howls over America first policies. Meaning we outsource our industry to the cheapest bidder.

He talks endlessly about Norway. Who does have ample social services, BUT FUNDS THEM EXPORTING OIL. Doing so while championing "green energy"

Free college, while protecting universities from competition in the marketplace meaning they have zero incentive to be cost efficient.

End student debt. Meaning kids that took jobs in the trades, can subsidize primarily white, upper middle class kids. He also doesn't support tying student loans to the schools, incentivizing them to loan money for degrees that will offer return in investment. Doing so while championing tenure, a system that means the highest paid professors, don't teach, grad students do.

He squeals about housing, while his party supports rent controls, footprint requirements, land use restrictions, and hundreds of other regs that are a barrier.

He supports EV, while howling about extraction, so we outsource "good union mining jobs" to Africa for resources to build batteries.

He supports Social Security. Meaning the gov, takes my money, and pisses it out the door, rather than let me save it, and grow it.

He squeals about drug costs, medical costs, yet the largest donor group to his party are trial lawyers. Study up on what liability insurance costs the average doctor.

Further, he supports unions, SUPPOSEDLY.

Despite all his yammering, when Amazon organized, Bernie was conspicuously missing. Seems he supports DONATING UNIONS. The NY Amazon union didn't join an established contributing union, so Bernie was a no show, until after. He was busy giving paid speeches. AOC was busy at the MET Gala.

Like I pointed out. You, are off today. Hospitals aren't. When a Dr decides (no one has a gun to there head) to work for money, while you chose to work for lifestyle, it's none of your business how much money that Dr makes. He BARGAINED his knowledge, skill, work ethic, for huge wages. You bargained yours for time off.

Just enjoy pointing out how much you good libs hate capitalism, except the part where you make record profits on hay.

I think old Bernie should demand the greedy hay farmer be taxed on their record profits to fund some libs kids free college.

You make a lot of good, specific points. The hospital part isn't one of them. There are private companies closed today and there are parts of federal and state governments that are open, such as TSA, military, and law enforcement. Comparing a hospital to a desk bureaucracy isn't your strongest argument.

Nope.

Or both parties quit subsidizing agriculture with Farm Bills filled with protective regulations such as below-market grazing rates, tariffs, import blockades, CRP payments, ethanol requirements, drought relief payments, etc...

I always get a kick out of farmers complaining about people on welfare when their entire industry is fixed by the government through regulation and literally checks in the mail.

We all make choices in life
You're sadly mistaken.

I have no issue with what Doctors make, they deserve high pay, they earn it.

Its the CEO's of for profit hospitals that I have a problem with. In particular when they rip people off for medical care.

Glad you have no problem with that, keep paying those high premiums...big pharma, big insurance, and big health care laugh all the way to the bank...on YOUR money.

Keep crowing...

CRP is worth the subsidy paid, not even up for debate. The upside of CRP, there really isn't a downside to that program.

You make a lot of good, specific points. The hospital part isn't one of them. There are private companies closed today and there are parts of federal and state governments that are open, such as TSA, military, and law enforcement. Comparing a hospital to a desk bureaucracy isn't your strongest argument.
Grizz is correct. I work for a big liberal private tech company and they gave us today off. They recently gave us Juneteenth off but they also included veterans day off as well.

I'm starting to turn libtard now. I'm thinking big tech companies should unionize so I can sit on my azz more and work less.

I'm all about 4 day, 32 hour work weeks being full time, hopefully Americans can get that one right.

Done simply to point out that Buzz and his union negotiated time off.

They could have negotiated double, triple time.

Yet, if a private guy is critical of that time off, "they should negotiate better". When the Dr negotiates more money, it's "record profits and greed"

Wrong, I have zero problem with what a Dr. makes for wages.

I have a problem with politicians deciding $7.75 an hour is a living wage, when its not even close.

Well Bernie isn't running, I remain unconvinced Trump will either, so of the next slate of potential candidates, who is the one you want to see on the ballot? On either side?

I cannot see how Biden would get reelected just given the current political reality of our country. Harris isn't worth even talking about as a serious candidate. I can't see any way that the liberals win the day on anything in the coming midterms. 2024 looks bleak for the Dems, as of today

So again we will be left with two $h1tty choices and nobody wins but the parties.

I know this much none of us is going to run and be elected.

Nemont

PS Buzz in don't know anyone who has claimed $7.75 is a "living wage", I also don't know anyone being paid that wage. Even here in the Middle of Nowhere McDonalds pays $15 an hour just to hire a high school kid to man the counter and wear a head set.

Del Taco is paying $20hr. Kroger warehouse is paying $23hr and begging for dudes.
Just passed a pizza hut offering $17hr.

Bernie's campaign staff, paid $13hr.

But $7.25 makes for good campaign commercials.

So why the opposition by R's to raise it then? How about getting some universal healthcare?

Why $15?

If $15 is good, wouldn't $50hr be better?

Why not $75?

How about guarantees on housing too.

Let's start with your rental.

Rent control works so well, we will just cap your rental at the rate it was when it was built. $65 a month seems fair. Folks need a place to live. They shouldn't have to choose rent or food.

Do you say that from a habitat perspective or a farm subsidy perspective?

I just looked up the current numbers, we're currently paying farmers to NOT farm 25 million acres.

This undoubtedly improves habitat, but it is also taxpayer money that reduces agricultural production and thus contributes to rising costs of food. It's not a "no net loss" deal.

Why we are at it. Hunger is real.

So "we" should set Tog hay price at $25 a ton. Need to keep feed prices low so hunger can be battled.

Why $25 a ton? Why not. "We" know as much about hay pricing as Bernie does anything, so why not just pull a number out of our collective azzes?

I'm sure Tog will gladly take $25 a ton

Reasonable comments Nemont. I think there are quite a few that agree with you. I can understand your rational but I don’t agree with you.

I think the Democrat leadership are happy with Pres Biden and the way they are governing with him as their front man. They have to clarify his missteps but seem to figured out how to correct his missteps through a simple Whitehouse corrective statement the next day or two and it seems the Democratic voters and the National Press are perfectly fine with how that’s working. I think the leadership have actually come to like how that’s working. President Biden take a few minutes everyday or two to read a few teleprompter statements, they fix a few missteps the next day, the President gets a few minutes of bad press, which he neither hears or cares and heads off stage and quickly disappears form view. The leadership that are writing his scripts and leading the country are pretty much anonymous and take heat from anyone. No pressure on them at all and President Biden is numb to it all. What a great system. Imagine what would be happen if the Democrats had a majority in the Senate under the present setup.

I think if President is alive and can still read a teleprompter, he’ll be their man.

Regarding minimum wage. I was always under the impression it was a wage for youth and non skilled jobs that helped people get part time jobs and some experience in the work place to get them started in the work place. Never was supposed and never was intended as an income to live on, and that was pretty much how it worked until some many youth jobs were outlawed until they turned 18. Now days we see very few youth in the work place.

I can’t speak for Tog, but there is a cattle rancher near me that has three grow operations for hay. I sometimes talk prices with him and it’s always expensive, over 10 dollars a bale, I don’t really remember. I joke with him and ask if he has any coupons or special sales or discounts coming up.

Habitat and soil conservation. Also helps with commodity pricing and farming being profitable.

If you're worried about rising food prices, then I would recommend quit growing crops for fuel production and start growing them for food.

Like I said, no downside.

Can we recommend growing fuel production and not needing to worry about it?

Maybe a strongly worded letter to producers?

You need to get out more, and jump into 2022 at some point.

$15-$20 an hour with no benefits is a joke...$7.75/hour federal minimum wage should be illegal.

Buzz,

What does raising the minimum wage do to help people already making more than double the current minimum wage? Like I said even McDonalds is offering training, health insurance, retirement plus $15 an hour and can't find help here, even high schools kids aren't taking a job there. I am not sure during inflationary times that raising minimum wage is good policy.

Universal health care? Why did they do Romney/Obama Care back in the day instead of Medicare for all? There is a reason but I doubt a single democrat will admit the truth. Do you know who shot down the best chance for universal health care? Ted Kennedy when he decided to run against Carter. He didn't want Carter to get a win before the 1980 election, ergo we got Reagan instead.

I would love to be able to sell Medicare supplement, part D plans and Medicare Advantage plans to everyone and shut down the ACA exchanges. I would make far more money from that system but that isn't what a single serious Democrat is proposing. Also they will have to hold onto power long enough to get it passed, that isn't looking good either.

So who of the next crop of scoundrels do you want on to see on the ballot?

Whatever Bernie wants? He loves Norway’s government. Which they claim is the best in Europe.

Over 18 average wage rate.
$138.55 Norwegian Krone.
$13.98 United States Dollar.

Under 18 average wage rate.
$108.15 Norwegian Krone.
$10.92 United States Dollars

Pretty simple.

Your a rich guy with 2 houses.

You should share the wealth, just like Bernie says.

My son and his buddies make $14hr. Not even a living wage. You should be less greedy, so they will make more.

Pretty simple Bernie economics.

Further. You got a degree, spent time developing your expertise. You shouldn't get compensated for that, same as the pharma researcher, right?

2 houses?

I guess you don't believe in carbon footprints huh?

Cash flow? You mean you exploit tax loopholes to benefit your bank account?
You greedy bastard
$14hr? What are they doing? People flipping burgers here are making $15hr. Have they considered learning a trade, welding, electrician, plumber, carpenter. Union carpenters are making $38+hr(wages & benefits) here.
And it’s because we’re greedy? No, we had the ambition to get educated and work our a$$ off!

My friend is paying $400/ton for dairy grade alfalfa and it's raining here today after they all just cut last week so the locals may lose this cut.

My point is the local dairy farmers trying to feed their cattle and passing the costs to the families paying $4.00/gallon milk for their kids may disagree.

You can claim it's not up for debate or there's no downside to taking 25 million acres of farmland out of production, but that doesn't make it so.

And none of that has anything to do with crp...

Not many alfalfa fields are being put into crp in my experience.

Milk should be $4 a gallon...oh yeah, but that's subsidized too.

@2lumpy, to your original post. Do you think it's possible to be conservative and anti-Trump?

Anti?

Anti Trump the man, sure

Anti Trump policies, a little harder.

Especially with the "mainstream" republicans being pro big spending, pro open border, and pro War in Europe.

Like it or not, but if Roe is overturned, it will be because Trumps judges, not Bush. So in that case who did more for the conservative cause?

What I think he did do, was show a guy like DeSantis how to hit back, and ignore the media.

But I'm anti anyone over retirement age being eligible to run for President.
