The Department of Justice wiped text messages between former FBI employees Lisa Page and Peter Strozk from their cell phones before the Office of the Inspector General could review them, a new report from the DOJ watchdog reveals.

Page and Strozk’s involvement with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has been heavily scrutinized after it was revealed they had sent numerous anti-Trump text messages back and forth to one another. Mueller has been tasked with looking into whether or not Donald Trump and his campaign associates coordinated with Russian officials to steal the 2016 election away from Hillary Clinton.


The 11-page report reveals that almost a month after Strzok was removed from Mueller’s team, his government-issued iPhone was wiped clean and restored to factory settings by another individual working in Mueller’s office. The special counsel’s Record’s Officer told investigators that “she determined it did not contain records that needed to be retained.”

Devin Nunes: Peter Strzok's 'insurance policy' was about getting into Trump campaign emails​

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., believes he has found the definition of the "insurance policy."
A text message sent by former FBI agent Peter Strzok to Lisa Page, a former FBI lawyer with whom Strzok was having an affair, in August 2016 that mentioned an "insurance policy" has long been a subject of concern among Republican investigators who believe there could have been a plot to undermine then-candidate Donald Trump.
In an interview Tuesday with Fox News, Nunes tied the "insurance policy" text to the FBI's use of an unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele to obtain Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants to wiretap Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
"We believe that insurance policy is not just about investigating the Trump campaign," Nunes said. "We believe it's to ensure that they were able to get the FISA warrant on Carter Page so they could go in and look at the emails in the campaign."

The FBI/DOJ should not be in the business of determining what is a lie in social media whether it is Left or Right leaning.
