The roadblocks they set up here during hunting season are multi-agency and include CPW, State Patrol, and County Sheriff officers. The last one I went through had NINE cops working it. It was 20 miles off of the nearest state highway on a USFS road.
They checked my woodcutting trailer registration (but not my drivers license or vehicle registration). I guess they just wanted to see if I could find it?
My favorite fish cop here checked me three times in one day when I was fishing the catch and release water here. Made me crawl out of the water every time. Finally asked him what his beef was. He just said he was too busy to keep track of who he checked. I was the only person I saw on the river that day
I guess I don’t have an issue with the fish cops taking advantage of targets of opportunity. From what I’ve seen of the way people drive there, only one ticket a week is borderline gross negligence.
