Imagine the backroom on this one.

Dragging it to court means Jr can, and probably will get called to testify, or, face charges himself.

But to make it go away before then, Wade has to plead out, taking another bunch of felonies.

And watchdogging it is the journalism project folks who both sides know will love to expose.

The hunter will not be charged in the bear case. Call it a “hunch,” (or gossip, if you will), but the hunter won’t be charged.

Will he be subpoenaed to testify? Crazy stuff happening.

Been around a couple of large land owners and their thinking is if you are government you are evil. They think in the line of Nevada's Bundy. Need I say more on that regard.
I give Wade more credit than most of you. I think he will plead guilty of those charges he is guilty of. Of coarse this will be after negotiations of the penalties.

Thank you for the compliment we try hard to focus on quality.

Our fastest turn around is stuff that comes in right now. Usually about 6 months. Our longest turnaround is stuff from the end of January. Sometimes that can get out 10 months.

He didn't do anything, just happens to have the same name as one of Heatons guides. But the salt Lake tribune didn't vet their information and called him out by his residence, and business name as the "Jared Steele" involved with Wade.

They specifically named him in their article.

Pretty shitty deal for the antler buyer if his name and business gets dragged through the mud when he had nothing to do with the Heatons, or this situation at all.

It the one you met is the antler buyer, they messed up a few online articles. This is in fact not the guide (jared steele) that helps with CCO. They should have pulled the articles immediately! The real jared steele (antler buyer) great basin co. Is not involved with poaching that I know of!

Hey I get what you are saying but I actually try my very best to live by the things I'm typing.

On the internet, I've been accused of poaching, saying all manner of things I didn't, called every name you can think of, told I have beliefs I don't have, accused of stealing and using photos that aren't mine, etc......

I haven't done these things but it's on the internet, and I don't worry about it. If someone wants to judge me for lies and gossip without ever knowing me, I really don't want or need their respect or friendship.

The actual reason I dive into these conversations is the constant hate shown towards any hunter or group of hunters makes us weeker to our hunting opposition. I actually don't care if you hate someone. That's between you and God. But nothing good comes from gossiping about it publicly.

Come post accounts of hunting and positive hunting content.

We’ll see what happens in February. Anyone want to go watch all the “gossip” at the court house with me? You know, the jury will just be gossiping when they say either “guilty” or “not guilty.”

Their verdict is just all hearsay and any sentence if he is convicted is just fruit of the poisonous tree!!!
 
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I see two things that don't seem right.

If the canned hunt provider is guilty of a crime, the guy who opened the can and took the contents should have to stand trial as well. the prosecution should investigate to see if the client is truly a bumbling totally ignorant clown before they get a pass.

If Wade was a child molester he'd have less interest in his crimes than he has for eliminating game killing predators. this all seems a little over the top.

Tri- I get that sometimes the government has ulterior motives for their behavior. Politics is top of this list, then vendettas by individuals, or something to prove agency worth.

But there is no reason to pick on an outfitter. Unless you have some FACT that supports it, all reasonable hunters will be very upset by the allegations and resulting in convictions.

I don't know exactly what happened, I don't feel it's important enough to get up to speed on.

My assumption from what I've read is Wade was holding cats up the tree until the client arrived, which in my experience would be no small task. maybe we don't have enough dogs. and something about baiting bear, to which I say, whatever.

I don't believe for a second most, if not all the clients could be stupid enough to not know this was going on . if the outfitter is guilty so is the shooter.

But like I said, the killing of predators legally or illegally is not a concern of mine. far be it from me to condemn someone for saving the game animals I care about.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office explains in a press release that Lemon admitted to participating in two illegal mountain lion hunts that took place in December 2020 and January 2021 on lands owned by the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service, respectively. Yardley also fessed up to his involvement in the 2020 hunt. Both hunts involved cougars that were treed or cornered well before a hunt began and were then kept there until a paying hunter could arrive to take the animal.
