Thanks! hope to find something decent, its a 3rd season hunt. I elk hunted the area 3rd season last year and in priors so Ive got a pretty decent idea what to expect and where to look (spent most of my elk hunt looking for deer to see if I wanted to burn my points). I decided to burn my points not because I saw 200s running around everywhere, but because I just dont know if itll get any better than the current situation and I know this unit very well at this point. Moving the deer seasons back a week has IMO had a devastating effect on the trophy MD hunting. 2nd season is now late enough and there are 3-4x the hunters that a lot of good bucks getting whacked before the high point tag hunters even get a chance 3rd and 4th season. figured Id burn my points on a 3rd season hunt and in the future hunt 2nd season every 2-3years.
