I’m coming from near Ft Collins, Colorado. I live here. Love shooting Prairie Dogs! Great target practice - but hard to find any dog towns down here with any numbers or quality either. Most dogs I’ve seen In Wyoming have been SW of Casper in those areas, plus quite a few around Douglas too. Any ideas for Wyoming ? I used to live in Cheyenne, but never saw many around there either. Any ideas/ information would be very appreciated! Thanks so much !!They love schools and libraries.
We have some booners in the Sonic parking lot here. They love schools and libraries.
I bet hanging around you would be like watching paint dry…I'd rather watch paint dry than shoot a prairie dog.
Some people mature past age 12 when it comes to things like shooting prairie dogs....I bet hanging around you would be like watching paint dry…
Some people mature past 12 when it comes to giving worthless opinions on a post…Some people mature past age 12 when it comes to things like shooting prairie dogs....
Right, when are you going to learn your opinion is worthless? You look older than 12 physically, mentally on the other hand??? Can't be sure, but have a pretty good idea. Some people mature past 12 when it comes to giving worthless opinions on a post…
“I'd rather watch paint dry than shoot a prairie dog.”Right, when are you going to learn your opinion is worthless?
Apparently you struggle with facts and opinions.“I'd rather watch paint dry than shoot a prairie dog.”
Lmmfao okay, you win the 12 year old banter contest… carry on…Apparently you struggle with facts and opinions.
What I stated is a fact, jack.
An opinion would be something like I think NRs should have to buy a $250-$500 small game license to shoot prairie dogs in Wyoming. Maybe double if you're from Utah.
With the proper equipment and technique, it’s sorta like painting. However, I only shoot them in self defense now.“I'd rather watch paint dry than shoot a prairie dog.”
What’s your problem with shooting prairie dogs? Can’t you hit them?Apparently you struggle with facts and opinions.
What I stated is a fact, jack.

Well, I hope buzz posts pics of his 20 best p-dogs.What’s your problem with shooting prairie dogs? Can’t you hit them?
Nothing, if you're 12 or younger. What’s your problem with shooting prairie dogs? Can’t you hit them?
I think you should keep going. I would even join you. I’ll bring the pop sickles .Well crap! I just went and shot about 150 prarie dogs on the 4th... also turned 45 on that same day. Good to hear I'm keeping my mind young as a 12yo.
This farmer friend of mine only has about 2,000 more for me to shoot! Or should I grow up and act my age Buzz?
I don’t laugh. I know my wind call and elevation call was correct. It’s a good feeling. But I don’t get what you are saying about the wolf being run over. But I don’t care. I enjoy the schit outta shooting prairie dogs. It’s not easy.I'll bet the laugh guys make when they blow the prairie dog into a string of guts is the same laugh Cody Roberts made when he ran that wolf over.
Now think about that before you respond.
Is it the same laugh my friend let out when the prarie dogs caused $30,000 in damage to his bailer when it hit a hole while bailing?I'll bet the laugh guys make when they blow the prairie dog into a string of guts is the same laugh Cody Roberts made when he ran that wolf over.

My neighbor is out painting his hayfield red right now. It’s a job for him, and if I hadn’t shot thousands off that field already I’d help him.Is it the same laugh my friend let out when the prarie dogs caused $30,000 in damage to his bailer when it hit a hole while bailing?
I imagine lots of things aren't easy for you.I don’t laugh. I know my wind call and elevation call was correct. It’s a good feeling. But I don’t get what you are saying about the wolf being run over. But I don’t care. I enjoy the schit outta shooting prairie dogs. It’s not easy.
Cool story bro, let me guess the same guy had 2-3 hundred head of cattle and/or horses break their legs in prairie dog holes. Is it the same laugh my friend let out when the prarie dogs caused $30,000 in damage to his bailer when it hit a hole while bailing?
What’s up your ass! What do you shoot? Other then your mouthCool story bro, let me guess the same guy had 2-3 hundred head of cattle and/or horses break their legs in prairie dog holes.
Yeah, heard that one too.
I've heard some whoppers but prairie dog holes causing $30k in damage to a bailer?
Hopefully you took something in the .338-.375H&H to sort out those prairie dogs.
Wow, just Wow!
I did, when I was 12...out grew it.Oh yeah? Why don’t you try it and prove us wrong dead eye dick! Let’s see you hit one after another. They are harder to hit then big game.
What’s up your ass! What do you shoot? Other then your mouth
I know, reality is a hard thing for you to grasp.I've heard some whoppers but prairie dog holes causing $30k in damage to a bailer?
Buzz is a first rate ***** head, he’s one of those guys that is constantly looking over his shoulder for fear someone is lurking… those kind of folks “ I use that term loosely” never know who they’ve pissed off… Fact! What’s up your ass! What do you shoot? Other then your mouth
2" wide? You need a tape measure. All my rifles shoot like that. So yeah what else you got?
You’re a real advocate for hunters . We should stick together, not bash ones that don’t do what you approve of. Not a damn thing wrong with shooting prairie dogs. Hell of a lot hard to hit a 2” wide rat at 3-500 yards with wind. An elks vitals are what 12”? Pretty easy.
Says the guy begging for a place in Wyoming to shoot prairie dogs.Ya he seems like a real meat sauce guzzler
I agree if you're 12 or younger. Not a damn thing wrong with shooting prairie dogs.
I’m not begging for anything. You’re one of them Wyoming bit@h’s that think they own everything.Says the guy begging for a place in Wyoming to shoot prairie dogs.
Real tricky to find those wiley things, almost as hard as shooting one.
Why don't you stay in Utah and shoot prairie dogs?
About time to see about requiring a NR license to shoot them here. Tired of giving away resources to NR's.
Or to shitty of a shot to hit them. All mouth and no ballsI agree if you're 12 or younger.
Sounds like all your rifles are .25 inch shooters, what challenge is there in hitting a 2" wide pdog?Ya 2” wide! What the hell do you think they are? You are a real class act . Why don’t you just move along to a site for pricks like you
Takes a real "man" to shoot a prairie dog...tuffie.Or to shitty of a shot to hit them. All mouth and no balls
Actually, according to State law, public trust doctrine, and Supreme court cases...yes, as a matter of fact, Wyoming Residents do own the wildlife here. That would include prairie dogs.I’m not begging for anything. You’re one of them Wyoming bit@h’s that think they own everything.
Ok slick. If you knew anything about shooting them you would get it. But you don’t. So go back to playin with yourself. You’re such a big bad hunter. You stick to shooting your mouth off. I’m sure someone will someday knock your knob gobblers outTakes a real "man" to shoot a prairie dog...tuffie.
BTW, its too...
Well I’m killing them and I’m not from WyomingActually, according to State law, public trust doctrine, and Supreme court cases...yes, as a matter of fact, Wyoming Residents do own the wildlife here. That would include prairie dogs.
You got something right! Congrats!
I shot plenty between 6-12 years old, so yes, I do know about shooting them.Ok slick. If you knew anything about shooting them you would get it. But you don’t. So go back to playin with yourself. You’re such a big bad hunter. You stick to shooting your mouth off. I’m sure someone will someday knock your knob gobblers out
Yep, and the people of Wyoming will decide how much we need to start charging you to do so.Well I’m killing them and I’m not from Wyoming
ok dead eye dickI shot plenty between 6-12 years old, so yes, I do know about shooting them.
I also learned after turning about 12 years old, it was no fun or challenge any longer.
Ya whatever. Been killin them for years. I don’t give a schit what you think or say. You couldn’t hold a candle next to us shooting them. So keep flappin your lips like you’re some bada$$. We all know different.Yep, and the people of Wyoming will decide how much we need to start charging you to do so.
The GF could use the revenue.
You're the one said you need practice...not me.ok dead eye dick
Sure seems you're doing a lot of justifying to prove your manhood by shooting a pdog.Ya whatever. Been killin them for years. I don’t give a schit what you think or say. You couldn’t hold a candle next to us shooting them. So keep flappin your lips like you’re some bada$$. We all know different.
It’s not practice. It’s fun and relaxing. You're the one said you need practice...not me.
Because I enjoy it. And you cantSure seems you're doing a lot of justifying to prove your manhood by shooting a pdog.
If you're as good as you say, why are you still practicing on prairie dogs that you claim you're such a badass at shooting?
It was quiet enjoyable when I was 6-12 years old, very fun.Because I enjoy it. And you cant
I see your maturity level has not advanced past 12, as if that wasn't a given. Here’s a self portrait of Buzz, this is what he does now instead of shooting PDogs now that he’s older than 12…,

Ohhh my, you drew a sheep tag???? I hadn’t heard this about 50+ times, and now your showing me …. I take back everything I’ve said about you, you’re the most mature person around this place….I see your maturity level has not advanced past 12, as if that wasn't a given.
What grown ups do:

Actually, it's the 4th one I've drawn.Ohhh my, you drew a sheep tag???? I hadn’t heard this about 50+ times, and now your showing me …. I take back everything I’ve said about you, you’re the most mature person around this place….
Well, yeah, I mean way easier than shooting a prairie dog. I'll wait for you to hang some pixels of all the rams you've shot...Real tough shooting a sheep
I think you know the answer to that….Is Buzz a PITA on every forum or are we lucky enough to have him all to our selves?
I have no desire to shoot a sheep.Well, yeah, I mean way easier than shooting a prairie dog. I'll wait for you to hang some pixels of all the rams you've shot...
Laffin'.
I have no desire to shoot a sheep.
^^^When you have nothing^^^I didn't see many posts from Buzz during June. He must have a bunch more time on his hands now that Pride month is over....
I know, i know, it was almost as petty as flaunting a sheep tag like a child showing off his cool new toy at recess in kindergarten.^^^When you have nothing^^^
Why? I mean sheep hunting is way easier than the challenge of a pdog.I know, i know, it was almost as petty as flaunting a sheep tag like a child showing off his cool new toy at recess in kindergarten.

Jeez, everyone knows that!
Ain't bragging if you've done it.You're the one who brought sheep into the conversation.... nobody likes a bragger, sheep boy.
If I am lucky enough to draw a sheep tag before I die, I probably won't be shooting (not hunting) pdogs that year because I will be too busy scouting out the biggest ram in the unit. The fact that you find yourself on here harassing people looking for shooting/ recreation opportunities just shows where your priorities are. You are a petty POS.
Ain't bragging if you've done it.
Just sayin'.
I can't believe you guys fall for it every time. You suck the fun out of every thread you enter... you must lead a lonely life. I truly feel bad for you.
I can't believe you guys fall for it every time.
Dang, get over it.I have an area to go. They’re just not very plentiful. I was just looking for other areas to venture. I’m not rich and gas and time are tight. That’s it. I enjoy going out and getting shooting in. Don’t make me any different than anyone else. Even though buzz is a jackass and has a burr up his ass. Been a member here since this site was started. I don’t post or comment because there is ass hats like buzz on here that love to degrade people. Just the nature of the internet. I’m sure he’s a super guy
"Quite"It was quiet enjoyable when I was 6-12 years old, very fun.
Just not sure how many a person has to kill before they figure out its easy, and like watching paint dry.
FFS, a guy on this very thread bragged about shooting "about 150" of them on his birthday. Seems like if it was "hard" like you claim, 150 a day would be very rare.
I used to shoot 100-150 a day when I was 6-12 years old too, why I know its not "hard".
I don't shoot them for recreation, for several reasons. But I've shot a lot of them of my business lot and out of my fields. I don't really see the difference.I'll bet the laugh guys make when they blow the prairie dog into a string of guts is the same laugh Cody Roberts made when he ran that wolf over.
Now think about that before you respond.
Here’s a few more…..Never shot a prairie dog, but I’m cool with guys who do. Fellow hunters… and all that.
And I do have a few more rams than Duzz. Magnificent creatures. As he says, not braggin’, if ya done it.
Duzz.. when you go up to Montana for your ram, don’t you dare shoot another dink for your garage wall. Show us a big one!
HT

Somone should have told Jack O'Connor to write a book on prairie dog hunting, would have been a best seller!
Instead, he just wrote about boring old rams...
This is no game for the weak-kneed and faint-hearted. Hunter success is not high, not because there aren’t enough sheep but because there aren’t enough people with the temperament to become sheep hunters.
—“The Bighorn,” March 1960
The wild ram embodies the mystery and magic of the mountains, the rocky canyons, the snowy peaks, the fragrant alpine meadows, the gray slide rock, the icy, dancing rills fed by snowbank and glacier, the sweet, clean air of the high places, and the sense of being alone on the top of the world with the eagles, the marmots, and the wild sheep themselves.
—“The Bighorn,” March 1960
Someone want to educate Buzz on all the shitty shots and wounding O'Connor did?
Slow day at work? You Wyoming guys chase down prairie dogs, duct tape their mouths and haul them to the bar?
Think next time you respond
Lunch needed outSlow day at work?
We focus on trophy elk, mule deer, antelope and moose hunts and take B&C bucks most years.
