House to vote on fish, game licenses
Utahns could get a single license to both hunt small game and fish under a bill passed by a House committee Thursday.
The bill, already approved by the Senate, would also lower the age requirement for a fishing license from 14 to 12 and require big-game hunters to get a license before applying for a big-game, bear, cougar or turkey hunting permit.
Jim Karpowitz, director of the Division of Wildlife Resources, said by increasing the number of hunting and fishing permits sold, the bill would make the DWR eligible for more federal funding.
