I have been putting in for years and now have 16 points for deer. I would love to hunt the Henry's but at age 64 feel that might never happen. I normally hunt rifle, but could hunt muzzleloader.

Looking for input on what you would do if you wanted a 190+ buck.

Correct me if im wrong but the 16 points your almost garentred a henry rifle tag next year. I would stay with it. Check your draw odds here on mm and see for your self. Theres not many other units your almost garenteed a 190 buck

He's not a resident,I am in a worse spot than you I have 12 non resident points,I think I could get a bookcliff archery or hold out a couple more years for the paunsaugunt archery.hope you find your answer good luck.

I am a nonresident. 2012 I had 15 points. For 2013 I have 16.
I looked at the web sites and it looks like I might eventually have a shot at the Pauns. Any input is appreciated.

You would be guarenteed a Henry's Management hunt. This hunt I think is probably better than a regular Rifle Book Cliffs. Just a thought

Henry's Management is a hard hunt... There are some monster 3by's I was down there last year during that hunt looking at the deer rutting and the biggest 3by that i saw would have went about 195 and 28-29 wide it was a GIANT but the next biggest bucks i saw where 170-180 3's. There are some big management deer there but I dont know if i would waste that long of a wait on anything but the regular Henrys tag... if you wait it will be worth it... if not go with Pauns then Books

There are some 190 class bucks in the Books, but they are few and far between. 160-170 is a great buck there. I would go with the Pauns. Better gene pool.

I appreciate the help. Think I will start researching the Pauns.

I hear it is a migratory herd and if you don't know what you are doing, you could waste a lot of time in wrong areas.
