Very jealous. Just spent some time up there the other day just calling in bulls, tons of action right now.

Over off of houser road. 1st day of hunting heard a few saw a few. Came close to what we thought was a big bull. But never saw him. Got to about 60 yards . Then caught our wind...Mr. mountain... any good ones you called in?

Just on my own calling. I don't have a tag till 4th season in another unit so I decided to take off the other evening. Heard a couple bugles and called back and they responded. Got them to about 70.

Holy **** how many points does it take to draw archery or ML?
Every person is within shouting distance of divide road and NOBODY is where the elk are from what I saw today!!

One thing about hunting 61 if you avoid divide road you avoid 90% of the tag holders

Its about 17 for both archery and muzzleloader for residents. Muzzle 11/15 drew at 17 archery 10/11 drew

I’ll holler at elk anywhere and anytime they or the other hunters will holler back. A tag has nothing to do with it.

In fact, I’m fixin to go do it in about 30 minutes, archers be damned. The bulls are on fire here also

I’ve got no problem with someone up there calling from a road a little. If I didn’t have a broken ankle I’d be up there hunting grouse and turkey and not from a road. I also wouldn’t be in area’s I consider to be prime elk hunting. I’ve had a couple of ‘disagreements’ with hunters who had tags but weren’t far off a road while grouse and turkey hunting. I tried to give them a few tips but they weren’t listening.

I don't believe a tag gives anyone exclusive rights to public lands.

Soo. Update on our late archery elk hunt so far. Saw and been hearing a bunch. But don't seem to be hot. Not interacting ect..From what I've and few other hunters experienced in the past few days. Went to town today to get a hotel clean up and re energize.. thinking hoping that it will get better)

I don’t know where your at as I said but get away from divide road. The bulls are very active from what I saw this weekend.
Should be even better the next week.
Temps are on the rise but go deep.
