well havent been drawn in 6 years and got this tag on my last choice. Havent been to the unit in awhile. so just wondering if u had this tag and whats the odds of getting a 350+ on this and how would u hunt it. any info would be much appreciated.

Highly unlikely to kill a 350 bull on that hunt. Or any late rifle hunt for that matter

Yea I know what you mean. Any pointers that could help on where to start looking at that time of the year??

I don't know much about 5a, but I do know late season elk hunting. I completely disagree with azdogman, I think you can give yourself a great chance at a 350+ bull on any late hunt in AZ! It just takes a little more work, dedication and patience. Talk to anyone willing to give a little info and scout the unit hard and you'll improve your odds at finding a few 350+ bulls!

Good luck on your hunt and don't let a number dictate your success!

I just call em as I see em!

My buddy was on that hunt last year. They found some decent bulls (310-320). Let me ask him for some info

Thank you all for the feed back. I'm definitley got my work
Cut out for me! But hey that's what makes it that much more fun. 350 + would probably be pushing it for that kinda hunt. But couldn't hurt to ask. Hell 310-320 I would be OK with that!!! Lol I heard Leonard's canyon is known for huge bulls in that unit??? We'll hopefully I can get as many little tips here and there to help me be successful on this hunt! Thank you all again. And God Bless!

I know that area pretty well and a 350+ is going to be hard to find in there on a late hunt and if you havn't seen those canyons, getting an elk out of there could be really difficult. I've been in them but congrats on drawing. It should be a fun hunt anyway. It's a cool area.
