Unit 49, 1st Rifle

I will be accompanying my Son on his 1st Rifle bull hunt. Neither of us have ever seen or set foot in Unit 49, so this will be a totally new experience for us. I used my PP's last year at age 69 on a Unit 61, 2nd Rifle Bull, and he is burning his PP's this year. This will forever take both of us out of the PP chase/creep.

I have gotten some response from members suggesting areas, and any additional information will be welcome.

Don't overlook the Pinyon pine country along the southern and western edges of the unit. Its a tougher hunt and you'll find quite a few hikers but the big bulls prefer this thicker country. Best of luck.
