Unit 47 Youth Buck Tag

Been absent from this forum for a few years. Decided to jump back in and share my excitement for the upcoming season. I once again did not draw any hunts so I will be hunting OTC once again. My 13-year-old son on the other hand drew a Unit 47 Youth tag. His cousin that is his same age had the same buck tag last year. Due to football, we did not have a lot of time to spend in that unit and only hunted 3 days. This year they will both have tags in their pocket as my nephew drew a doe tag in the same unit this year. I want to be clear I am not resurfacing on the forum looking for advice on the unit. Just excited to take my son out on his first hunt where he will be the one with the tag.

Sounds fun. My son drew a 47 tag also. He is excited. Going to go out in August to take a look around for a long weekend. Going to hunt the last week of the season. HT, I’ll let you know what we see, we should exchange some notes. Critter

My elk season is now over, and my 13-year-old has patiently been waiting for his turn. Finished sighting in his rifle last night and we will get one more practice session this week. Then it's time to hit the unit for the opener on Saturday. Getting super anxious and excited. I hope we can find him an opportunity at a buck. This will be his first season with a tag in his pocket.

Good luck. My son also drew the 47 tag this year. We took a quick scouting trip this summer. Saw a couple of small bucks and
a lot of antelope. Should be a fun hunt.
