I am ging to buy a Stevens model 200 in 223 cal. Anyone own one of these rifles? I have heard they are very accurate for the price.

i have 2 model 200's one started as a 243 and it shot good, liked sierra 85hpbt and imr4064 shot anywhere from half to 1 inch groups. changed the barrel to a shilen 6.5x284, sss trigger, recoil lug and dogtracker stock.
second one i swapped the 7mm08 barrel to a 6mmbr barrel from sss, did the same trigger, recoil lug, but put a bell and carlson medalist stock on it. both rifles have 6.5x20 leupold scopes. both shoot really good.
varget would be a good powder for 50-60 grain bullets in a 223. sorry i couldn't be more help ce61 all guns are fun, esp. the cheap ones that shoot good.

I really like the Stevens 200 rifles. They shoot like they cost alot more. Mine likes 55 grain ballistic tips over AA 2015. Great value. dave.

Got my mind made up to buy one and now trying to find a local dealer that has one in stock.I find every cal they make except 223.
