The big one. You can shoot across canyons with it. mtmuleyWould that be the 270 F”&king G/y reamer? Asking for a friend....
Here's an odd question. During the short life of this thread, what have you hunted and killed?
Excellent. Anybody else?Coyote, thanx for askin.
Haven’t hunted anything but killed way to many brain cells. Between Christmas parties and this post I’m about out...?Here's an odd question. During the short life of this thread, what have you hunted and killed?
Last kill on November 8th Tri. I might smack a whitey doe on my property in a few days. Gotta use a short range weapon, so not applicable here. mtmuleyExcellent. Anybody else?
You actually think some posters might be imbibing? mtmuleyI killed a 12 pack. I don't drink as much as I used to. This thread reminds me why.
8. Should Only 6.5mm's be allowed for shooting over 1/2 mile?
Coyote for me too. I hunt them about twice a week this time of year. Wonder if I shoot them close enough to not be a “ piss poor hunter”???Excellent. Anybody else?
You have to shoot them in the head while you make their mama watch.........to teach them respectCoyote for me too. I hunt them about twice a week this time of year. Wonder if I shoot them close enough to not be a “ piss poor hunter”???
Really living up to that stalker title. You seriously need to get a life.Coyote for me too, me and my bestie JP always hunt coyotes together, he’s the best caller, dude knows how to blow that’s for sure
2 Aleutian Geese. I spotted a flock sitting in the field 700 yards away and I belly crawled to within 40 yards. Here's an odd question. During the short life of this thread, what have you hunted and killed?
You mean like in the glory days of waterfowling?Impossible!
Actually that brings to mind an untapped market. THE LONG RANGE SHOTGUN. Who needs stupid decoys and calls. Thats for suckered. We'll be skyblasting quackers at 500 yards once I invent BBs with a higher ballistic coefficient and a rangefinder with a speedometer on it.
Thanks!! Can't believe I forgot that one.I killed a 12 pack. I don't drink as much as I used to. This thread reminds me why.

Yeah I hope you’re joking. The 6.5 has a place. You can shoot your 338 Lapua all day long? Nope it kills your shoulder. You can with a 6.5...Ahh the almighty 6.5 manbun, I’ve heard of those..,
I love the 6.5, I just like making fun of the creedmore its the greatest thing since sliced bread....Yeah I hope you’re joking. The 6.5 has a place. You can shoot your 338 Lapua all day long? Nope it kills your shoulder. You can with a 6.5...
I am old school and use the 6.5x55 Swede haha. Don’t get me wrong the 338 has more knock down power and a slightly higher bc. But for shootability I like the 6.5. I don’t view one call as a end all tell all. Each like a wrench has its place.I love the 6.5, I just like making fun of the creedmore its the greatest thing since sliced bread....
Just an FYI. There is no such thing as “ knock down power”.I am old school and use the 6.5x55 Swede haha. Don’t get me wrong the 338 has more knock down power and a slightly higher bc. \Start shooting rounds larger than 400 grains and you will begin to believe in "knock down power".
u can wear a forum outStart shooting rounds larger than 400 grains and you will begin to believe in "knock down power".
I don’t know. Shot a coyote with a 300 win mag at about 70 yards one time. I think there animals and it Sure looked like it knocked it over\
Nope. Myth. Bullets do not "knock down" an animal. mtmuley
Of course it did. You didn't pass physics class, did you? mtmuleyI don’t know. Shot a coyote with a 300 win mag at about 70 yards one time. I think there animals and it Sure looked like it knocked it over
Actually it would sound like you didn’t with the statement “ bullets don’t knock down an animal” pretty broad un substantiated comment to make isn’t it?Of course it did. You didn't pass physics class, did you? mtmuley
Gimme your definition of "knock down". mtmuleyActually it would sound like you didn’t with the statement “ bullets don’t knock down an animal” pretty broad un substantiated comment to make isn’t it?
I already did. Your response was to insult me. True scholar...Gimme your definition of "knock down". mtmuley
Wacking a coyote. No insult intended. Scholar? Nope. I just know bullets don't "knock down" animals. Have a Happy New Year. mtmuleyI already did. Your response was to insult me. True scholar...
Knock down the shooter yes!? I have shot some big caliber rifles though.Start shooting rounds larger than 400 grains and you will begin to believe in "knock down power".
When it comes to an animal that weighs 1 pound, I’d hope a centerfire rifle of any kind could make them explode and lift off the ground upon impact. That video proves nothing
So here we have video evidence of bullets actually knocking animals into the air. And you don't think they can knock one down???????
Quit regurgitating what stupid gun writers in magazines tell you and go start putting bullets through live critters and you will learn guns definitely can knock stuff up, back, and down.
Why would you do this? O.K., let's put this thread to bed.Start shooting rounds larger than 400 grains and you will begin to believe in "knock down power".
Nope. You are comparing apples to oranges. The .300 win mag has more knock down power than the .243. Knock down power doesn't always overcome poor shot placement.I’m not rebranding anything. Im calling it was it is. What I’m trying to say is this. A person has say a 300Win mag and I’m standing next to him with my 243 and we both shoot an animal. His animal is hit and runs off and dies. My animal is hit and drops on the spot. Does my 243 have more “knock down power” than his 300Win?
Ok. Same scenario but now both of us have 300 win mag. One shooting Barnes and one Berger and both shots are directly behind the shoulder. His runs off 40-50 yards and falls down dead. Mine drops on the spot. More “knock down power” or different methods of the transfer of that energy?Nope. You are comparing apples to oranges. The .300 win mag has more knock down power than the .243. Knock down power doesn't always overcome poor shot placement.
Of course.Just answer this question and be honest. Can you knock an animal down in his tracks without the bullet severing the spine or penetrating the brain?
Power didn’t knock them down. The transfer of a bullets Energy did."More “knock down power” or different methods of the transfer of that energy?"
Two different shots on two different animals plain and simple. No matter how much we try and make variable constant and equal they always remain variables.
"Of course."
So that means "Power" knocked them down.
Thats power.?Power didn’t knock them down. The transfer of a bullets Energy did.
I havent shot but 400 or so big-game animals in my life. An animal dropping in its tracks is wayyyyyyy different than an animal being physically "moved" backward, or upward.Just answer this question and be honest. Can you knock an animal down in his tracks without the bullet severing the spine or penetrating the brain?
No one will ever be more experienced than tri at hunting. Ever.but like I say, I've only shot about 400 big-game animals, so what would I know?
The only thing you shoot is your mouth...and yourself in the foot. But no arguing you're the best at that....Well!
If You Haven't Seen it or done it You Might need to move up to a NON-PISSCUTTER Caliber!
I Have Picked a Couple Bucks Up & Moved them Backwards!
I Flipped one over on His Back making it Perfect for Gutting!
Had a Friend with me on the Flip Job!
First Words out of His Mouth:Woulda never believed that if I hadn't of just seen it!

So Call it what you want to!
I Don't GAFF What You Call it!
