Hey NVB!
I Got a couple of A's in High School & Never Cracked a Book!
By Our Senior Year the Teachers had Decided We(A Group of Friends & Myself!) were For Surely Graduating with No chance of ever Returning!
I'm Not going back to School!
And I'm not gonna take your Online Classes you're offering Neither!
I learn way more than I need to know right here on MM!

Dude, you went to school in the basin. Uintah Basin A's=F's everywhere else in the free world. Just saying, I went to Todd elementary and was the only white boy in my class. My 3rd grade teacher was a fat alcoholic ute who would line us up on a regular basis and paddle us with her ping-pong paddle. Got in fights every day at that school. Third graders were smoking pot there and this was back in 1981. In fact, I was there when they announced Reagan was shot.
Don't go bragging about no Basin A's 'cause they don't mean chit.

Todd Elementary!! Yeah I went to Central in Vernal and our unofficial motto was "At least we aren't Todd!"
Yeah the schools on the res back then were really bad. When we played West Jr. High in football in 9th grade our coaches had to tell us that if we got ahead too much too soon, they might just walk off the field and not finish the game. We were up 28-0 at halftime. Coach put in the 2nd and 3rd stringers for the rest of the game and we went up 42-0 before the 4th Quarter started. So, he told us to go out and fumble on purpose. We did - but their players wouldn't pick up the ball! So my buddy did and reversed field, went backwards and still broke around the other end and then ended up fumbling on purpose again. They finally recovered it and scored a TD a few plays later and ended up playing out the game. They have improved quite a bit. My sister's kids went to head-start over there and they loved it. TripleK highly approved.

deadibob- I would've survived Todd! Todd Elem is now Eagle View Elem and West Jr. High is no more- it's all Eagle View K-8. They are still part of the Uintah School District but they are making great strides- it's not a bad school- no more mean teachers who hit with ping pong paddles either. My kids went to Ute Tribe Head Start- not Todd or Eagle View. I loved UTHS though. Great program!
Bess was lucky he went to school before they started arresting female teachers for giving As and other rewards to students who don't like to study. Bess...you were a shy, vulnerable teenager, weren't you?

I Was Scared of it when I was Younger!
But then I had this one Teacher that always said:
"No evil or malicious intent"
Didn't know what it meant at the time!
