Trappers have been hitting them hard. Seen 1 pig in last 2 years. Have seen fresh sign in places, so I know some are still around, but, unless you got some good intel it will be tough.

I thought you and your son whacked 5 pigs? Were those not in NM?

I've never seen a pig in NM, although one area in 34 I saw signs of rooting a couple of years ago. USFS has a map online that identifies where pigs have been seen.

Regardless if you go or not please follow up with the organizer of the hunt after it is over to see what the results are. I would be really interested to see how the hunters that do give it a try do.

Hell if the pot gets big enough go buy the biggest feed lot pig you can find in Alamogordo or Roswell, pop it and take it to the weigh in and cash in. I can almost guarantee that is what the "winners" of this contest are going to do.
