I'm finishing up the skull prep on this years elk (in the other thread) and thought I'd share a few pics of his healed skull injury.
He got his nose bashed in, which I've seen pretty commonly:
More interestingly, he nearly tore his left antler off:
there is a ridge of bone overlaying the wound that's about 1.5" wide x 5" long x 3/4" thick:
I'm almost a little surprised he survived this wound, let alone growing a relatively normal antler!
