I have been up there after deer, lots of does and small bucks - still searching for a shooter. I do have an elk tag in case I run into a suicide cow!
As for the elk, last Friday I saw two big herds on the south side of the river down near Danskin. Of course it would be difficult to get to them with all the posted private property over there - maybe you know an access point.
Also have a friend that hunts around lick cr. He said all the elk he saw were either holed up in the bottoms away from the road or way up on top in whats left of the snow around Banner. Tough to get to either way.
