Selected for controlled either sex muzzy Nov 16th to 30th. The elk down pretty low this late? Good access? Have not hunted the SE in many years. Any input would be appreciated.
Will do, thank you!I know 73 really well and see elk at that time fairly regularly...they seem to settle down after the Oct rifle and show themselves a bit more. PM me and maybe I can give you a couple ideas.
Ok sounds good. Thank you.I spent a lot of time in 73A in October and November year before last. Lots of elk in first cover above valley floor. I agree with Deepcolor. Easy to find them that time of year. One suggestion would be to find ridges / pockets sheltered from wind.

I could use some info if you have the time, I have this hunt this year.I know 73 really well and see elk at that time fairly regularly...they seem to settle down after the Oct rifle and show themselves a bit more. PM me and maybe I can give you a couple ideas.
I don't know how the OP's hunt went - I saw in another thread he was looking for info on another muzzie hunt he drew this year (can you draw controlled elk hunt 2 years in a row? ) so might chime in to offer you some info... I was in 73 alot in Nov and I never saw anyone muzzie hunting...but the Bannock zone is pretty big with the other units so maybe folks concentrated on those areas. The weather was warmer last Nov and I didn't see as many concentrated big groups of elk down lower like they'll do when we get early snows. How did this hunt go? I have it this year.
