The buck on the hoof is the biggest I've ever seen body wise. The one I killed is a close second. He is just shy of 29in wide for reference. 290lbs with no guts, I couldn't believe it.
Back in the late 80's, I shot a little az whitetail buck down by the mexico border. We were probably a little over a mile back in this pretty steep canyon. He couldn't have weighed much more than 60 lbs field dressed. I was still in pretty good shape back then so I just folded him in half & strapped him to my pack frame. By the time I finally got him to the truck, I would have sworn he weighed over 1000 lbs!
I killed this stag mule deer in Eastern Oregon in 1994. Fully dressed at the locker plant weight was 188# making the live weight over 300#. The backfat was almost 3" thick...we had a heck of a time loading the buck into a pickup.
