Got my bull Saturday morning

I was hunting him every day for a week had shots that I didn’t take because they were too rushed. I knew it was only a matter of time till I could catch him off guard. He had between 52 and 72 cows with him daily. I never pressed him too hard. Finally on Saturday an outfitter showed up and I was completely distraught thinking they were going after my bull. They had beat us up into the spot about 10 minutes before us. We had the mountain to our selves before that day. The outfitters had gotten into my stalking spot before I could that morning. They ened. Up being the distraction I needed some how with all the pressure the bull ened up in front of the heard when I crested the mountain. I had him at 200 yards missed. I reloaded as fast as I could and ran down about 200 more yards where I thought he’d come out of the thick stuff and out he came boom thawack I knew I finally hit him threw all the smoke of 140 grains of blackhorn. I watched him bed with only one shot left and no one around to spot for me I waited an hour hopping he would expire in that time. Nope he got up and was walking down hill toward me in dense trees I had a narrow shooting lane. I put my last shot in him and he slowly walked into the tall thick deadfall. At this point my spotting crew of my dad 63 my father in law 67 and his best bud 67 came down into the area that I’d last saw him. After about two hours I went into the trees and by luck I walked right up to him. After getting him gutted I’d put one right threw his neck into one lung. Those damn things are so tough the third shot was in vain because he was taking his last walk. So thankful to share this hunt with my hunting mentors. We all hunt together only guy missing if my best bud who got deployed about a month before the hunt. Actually opening day he was flying into over seas. Thanks for all your kind words.
