Did NDOW drop the ball in 078, 107?

From the sounds of things the early cow and spike hunts didn’t bring much satisfaction to hunters this year. Heard reports that NDOW failed to show up to haze elk off the mine property and left a lot of unhappy hunters, finding the only elk at the mine. Too bad, as I had this tag last year and had a great time. Still makes me wonder if it’s worth putting in on future seasons.

I helped a buddy out on this hunt for a cow and it sucked. Could find the elk but they weren’t accessible.

Unfortunate part about high density private property hunts. It's a crap shoot.

I had a ml tag in 2022. Found elk, few on public.

Hard to say what may prevent the hazing. Mechanical issues, private property needs, etc. Any number of things could screw up the timing.

We found a ton of elk on private. Opening day we got lucky and elk moved to accessible area of blm but my buddy didn’t get it done. Just a crap shoot on which way they go everyday and if they get spooked. Fun hunt anyways watching all the bulls pushing each other

I was out there last year for cow and the year before for bull and NDOW was there opening day. From what I gathered from my buddies is there were no helicopters, gunshots or any other attempt by NDOW to haze them. Now I know that they aren’t obligated to do so but only pointing out that it seems this hunt depends on it to make it worth having the tag.
