Cheatgrass Noxious in Wyoming

That's a little like saying cancer is bad m'kay. yes it's noxious we've been fighting it for decades and it's won. wait for the Medusa head it's maybe worse because it has no feed value . at least cheat is good part of the year.

One thing is for sure , if there's any hope of stopping it get on it fast and spend whatever it takes.

Have you seen the price of Rejuvra?

If you're worried about a budget you've already lost the battle.

we lost the war on cheat years ago because we didn't have the herbicides we have today. and we're losing the war on Medusa head right now because of the cost and lack of interest.

It's easy to fire people up on issues like this. getting the funding to fight it cools them down. nobody gives a FF about big game in the big game, the cattlemen are your friend work with them or give up. good luck stopping cheat you're going to need it.

Unbelievably CPW is cost sharing rejuvra with landowners for animal feed improvements on a few test areas in NW Colorado. Took a tour of a sight last year where they have treated vs no treatment and what a difference. The test will be how long it'll last against cheat grass encroachment. On treated areas they didn't reseed and the magnitude of native plants that grew was astonishing!

There is also ventenata in Wyo to worry about.

It is year 7 after Rejuvra treatments on several of our properties and we still have good to excellent cheatgrass control. Native species diversity has increased and browse growth continues to look amazing. It has been worth every penny of the investment!

Colorado has a habitat stamp that every hunter is required to purchase to apply or buy a license. We also have a check the box discounted Colorado state parks pass when buying our license plates each year.

I would be in favor of this as long as the proceeds go directly towards improvement projects like highway fencing, water development, habitat (cheatgrass), etc. that immediately impact wildlife.
