Area 55 2nd Rifle Question.

Area 55 2nd Rifle. Octover 26 - Nov 3. What are the odds of the deer being pushed out of the high country by snow? I've never been in that area at that time of year.

If you get a good deep snow in the very high country, they’ll get moving. I’ve seen it. Probably take 14-16” in the highest pine country.

They’ll be moving into mid level quakie patches and traveling down the drainages once there’s over a foot. Not yet into the sage brush foothills but there’s always a few bucks down there too. Start high and follow the sign.

You can find them top to bottom until consistent deeper snow up high starts to move some of them lower. They tend to hang up in the dark timber as long as possible as they move to the mid range. 55 does have alot of mid range to hunt.
