I did find the nice big buck I would like to harvest and bird-dog him for 2 days for a perfect broadside/under 100 yards shot.
Even if I tried to make him as sweet and dreamy as Erics Henry's buck, not close!
For those that haven't seen his thread
My 28 points was worth a nonresident Henry Mountains ALW buck tag this year. I realize that the deer numbers are not what they once were, but I was stoked to actually have a tag! I arrived almost three weeks early rather than make multiple short trips. I enjoy exploring and hiking so the plan...

I don't think I have ever hunted in such tall sagebrush before, maybe over around Rangely, Colo. bow hunting elk in unit 21??
ON the 2nd day of trying to put him down, I sat and watch him from a small high spot, and he was working all those does and running off another smaller 4x and a tall 3x and then back on the does.
I should have taken some pix of him, but I didn't chance it.
After about 45 minutes I was frozen up and just decided to let his big buck genes get spread around to the rutting does and I didn't shoot him.
They had all moved off and out of range anyway.
I've gotten more and more that I love the hunt, but I don't have to harvest to enjoy it.
I'll toss some final pix up.
