The Alsek river runs roughly 150 miles from Haines Jct in the Yukon to Dry Bay in Glacier Bay NP. It was substantially bigger than I was anticipating, averaging 60,000 cfs overall and 138,000 cfs below the confluence. It's getting harder to schedule a family trip of this length with the kids in college and I'm grateful we were able to pull it off.
This was also a "prove it" trip of sorts for us as we did quite a bit of the rowing (the twins and I are interested in doing some guiding and are now shortlisted with several GC companies.
