How's it going out there? Any rutting action? Share the general part of the state you're in if you want.
Rich hopefully it starts picking up for you.Not seeing any rutting action at all. Only 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old bucks with the does. Weather is turning after being very hot for the first few days. I expect it to get a bit better as the week goes on. Not seeing any mature bucks in the lower stuff yet.
I will be hunting deer in 3rd. Wife and son got their bulls and we only had one deer tag and my wife shot a stag buck. Weird because he was a perfect 3 point and not a freak show. Snowing good this morning. Just looking for deer now for fun.Not seeing any rutting action at all. Only 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old bucks with the does. 20+ bears? no wonder they are not seeing much...A buddy and his group are doing a trespass hunt on a small ranch (1400 acres) in Unit 13, one small bull elk, one bear and a couple of scrub deer. Not many elk seen, almost 20+ bears. Weather has been hot! They are usually at least 75% on this ranch.
Go low.My first time hunting Colorado. I’ve been hunting unit 62 and have seen very few deer but plenty of hunters! Hopefully the last few days will be better?

I have 55 4th season. Why are you down low in the sage country? Is there much snow yet in the higher elevations?Been in 55 and very slow been pounding the sage country north of Parlin, very few deer seen.
We have been high, low and everything in between and it’s been tough. Talked with many other hunters who are having a tough time finding deer.I have 55 4th season. Why are you down low in the sage country? Is there much snow yet in the higher elevations?
I’m not being critical… just interested in why you are not higher up in the timber for the 2nd season.

Yes sir not on the property we were huntingThe 155 was on private?
Pics or it didn't happenJust got back from CO unit 21. The first 2 days were warm but cold at night and we seen rutting in the mornings and evenings up high. As the week went on this activity was increasing daily. Watch to 2 buck go at it and I mean full on fight. Bucks raking bushes all over the place. All the deer were still high and when the snow hit the deer were on the move. We did see a few really good bucks. Seen one buck that would not score well but was massive. I went after him and got caught up and shot the wrong buck. "Buck Fever maybe LOL" The crab claw fronts seem to be a normal thing in this unit. Had a great hunt came home with meat. Nothing to write home about for me.. I hunted with My brothers. We all had tags and they both killed nice bucks. 28" 3x3 and a heavy narrow 4x5.
Thank you!Yes sir not on the property we were hunting
