In the past, they have charged cards with enough time for applicants with declined cards to make good. I'm not sure if that was policy or a requirement. Have they changed that?
 
So am I understanding her correctly about big game bonus point purchases being open during the June antlerless application period?

I'm sick of people talking about how great the NV draw is. Yes, it's fast and fancy with points squared as a lure, but I can't get tags out of them. I have more points in NV than anywhere else.... I'll reserve judgement on Utah depending on the outcome:)
 
So I retract my statement. I said it sounds like she's probably a fun hater and I believed what people were saying. After watching her I didn't think she was bad at all.

With that said no doubt they could have the draw done if they wanted. I don't know why they're making people wait, but whatever. They were upfront and said the 31st, so that's what it is. I'm just going to wait till the 31st and be done with it all. Talk to you all in about a week.

Someone on another forum said they only have a few people to check all successful applications for fraud, dead applicants and such. Maybe it's only premium and OIL, bit that would still be time consuming. It could be something new if that is true. But I would wait a bit longer to make sure the draw is done right and without fraud.

The next deadline is s Wyoming deer and antelope. If they post early enough on the 31st, no harm!

It’s the fricken government. You could take a smart, decent, hardworking human being and place them on the government tit where they also have some little bit of power over you and the rest is history. Overnight they turn into a totally different person. Just knowing they have some power to screw with people makes them sleep with a smile on their face at night.

Post offices, license bureaus, TSA, etc.

Ya’ll need to remember this “May 31st” thing isn’t new. They have had that as their “will post by” date for how long now?

The public statements from the division will never be anything but “by May 31st.”

CC hits will start before then…unless some of you are correct in they are just being mean-spirited and trying to prove a point.

I've never had an issue with Lindy, any time I've personally spoken with her she has been very helpful to answer questions. And she knows the draw really well.

That said this wait seems different, I don't think they was happy they had to move the draw process back to allow public to see proposed tag allocation, in all reality nothing at this point in Time is changed from what has happened in the past, usually once they got the set numbers from the WB they then conducted the draw and charged cards. The exact same process played out this time except they are now choosing to hold off on charging cards.

There own system say all CC transactions have been successfully processed, I do believe this is a new wrinkle to the system. It's almost like they have a way of holding off on the charges, but have actually successfully charged what they are going to. And they are just waiting until a set time to actually submit the charges (if that makes sense)

Mine says that it had been successfully processed as well... I am fairly certain I didn't draw as I applied for absurd odds only, knowing I was going to draw some good tags elsewhere...
 
I'm still sitting on "Credit card records cannot be edited for: Session ID: ...". I think I have a reasonable chance both at Henry deer or bison with my points.
 
At least in this video, there is no inflection of snottiness. Of course she was reading Teleprompter or cue cards. I can imagine after being asked for the 10,000 time, you might be a little bit more exasperated in your answer.

But she did say posted on May 31. Nothing mentioned about credit card hits

Just curious, I think I heard that they changed it so that the conservation tags come out of the the total pool before the RAC recommendations now. The RAC recommendations are for the draw allocation. Is that true? If not and they took one tag from the nonresident RAC recommended allocation, my odds for that tag go in the toilet:)

I’m not sure about that. I sure feel lucky to have gotten this tag. I was bidding on an app on my phone and watching the auction at the same time. I told my wife it was my last bid and then oddly enough nobody else bid. I was lucky in that I caught the right crowd.
I’ve had Wyoming and Montana bull bison tags and still haven’t connected. Maybe it will finally happen.

I have a theory.

Did you buy a hunting or combo license in that session? Did your dad not buy a license during his?

If those things are true that could be why we are seeing different messages.

You can’t process a charge and hide it from the person being charged. Transactions are a two way street.

Cards have not been charged, the draw can happen without cards being charged, and results released before transactions begin ie: may 31.

I don’t recall any inference to that type of systemic change, but it wouldn’t be all that hard to implement.

I'm not saying they charged them, maybe they have a system that is loaded up ready to charge at a certain time, meaning they have tested the cards to ensure they are valid and ready to go, but are holding off charges until a certain date????

Hell I don't know, but the wording is odd at any rate. I still think it's safe to say they are deliberately holding off charges on purpose, I can't speak to a motive.

They completed every other step of the process up to shutting off being able to change your card info on basically the same time line as the last couple years but have held of charges.

At this point It's kinda lost some of its excitement lol, but maybe that's just because I have been extremely wrong with all of my predictions to this point ?

Nope nether of us needed to buy combo's this year. I did buy my wife one, and she has the same message as me.

If we go another day without charges I’m on board with a new precedent.

But for now, this is roughly how I’d expect process to happen.

Fallon conducts draw and sends info to division. It takes them 2 business days to process info, match names/cards and initiate. So if Fallon sent info Friday that means Monday/Tuesday are admin days and then charges start to process en masse.

Just a guess though.
 
There will be a few drawn who don't make good on bad charges who will be replaced by next in line. I think getting next in line right is why they have charged before posting. I guess that would be most important to those applicants basing decisions about other close deadlines on UT results. That may not matter to the UT DWR.

We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion.
This seems to be the very definition of government.
 
Is there an actual reason it takes months? If Fallon rates less if they use the apple IIc?

Always amazed I can order the most random thing, and have it delivered tomorrow but a random number generator takes months.

Can we get on NV pricing plan? Maybe they could use a blackberry

It really is mind boggling! From a technical/software perspective the whole thing could take minutes from the time the app window closes and be verified automatically with much more certainty than any human could do. Notifications could go out in real-time like any other system does. It really makes no sense other than they have some sort of motive to string them out.
 
Montana Fish and Game is in a difficult situation of having to tell people that they over-allocated sheep and moose tags in the draw, so they are taking permits back. It is in everyone’s best interest to get it done right.
 
Why wouldn’t the CC update remain open until the draw? So if a guy has his CC compromised and has to cancel does the DWR call if the CC on file is declined?
 
DWR will make several attempts if your successful to collect payment..
I kinda figured they would set up payments hits after E mails ...

I see an intelligent, beautiful woman in the 5/31 "no wiggle room" video.

I'm only upset with UDWR director Justin Shirley for his inability to lead a smart and agile organization that would lead to weeks of inaction and the inability to wiggle.

Why would Shirley close the CC update ability on 5/19 if card hits weren't imminent? Didn't he learn from AZGFD when they did that in 2021 and then had to re-open card updating for a couple days - saying, "OK, now we're REALLY ready".

And we've seen the silly variable messages Shirley's software is spewing out. Shirley's software shouldn't behave like a Magic 8 ball.
