2023, 51 muzzleloader

I helped my buddy with his unit 51 muzzleloader hunt. The wind was crazy and cold. The open sights are a challenge. He hit the bull the first shot at 80 yards. Not the best shot!!! He reloaded and I cow called, when the bull lifted his head he shot him in the neck dropping him.

Just was up there this weekend, had rained earlier in week. Was up by escarpment. Old scat, one bull walked by my tent at night while I was sound asleep. Saw nothing even in valley below. Got a shitton of pinon tho!!!

It's a big unit, was it N S E W side if you wanna say? I was there last weekend on SouthEast side near 285 by escarpment. Saw old scat and a bull walked near me but saw nothing. I want to go up by the North side, sorta near Hopewell lake, but my hunting buddy isn't keen on the possibility of getting snowed in (which I am doubting will happen with current conditions)
