been beat to death i see,
But I have 12oo bucks burning a hole in my pocket.

I have never had a really nice pair of binos.

I am looking at 10x42's

warranty is imortant

i thought the cabelas euro were what i wanted, but the warrenty does not cover much,

i like swarovski but a little above my limit
no knowledge of
leica, steiner,ext.
I hear decent things about vortex. but never looked through them.

any help?

Used Leica Ultravid
Used Zeiss FL-see one on occasion for around $1200
Used or new Steiner peregrine XP
You should be able to get these like new- Ebay is your friend.

I had a chance to check out the new Vortex Razor 10x42HD's and they were awesome. I will be spending some money on these for sure.

I believe cameraland has 10 X 42 Zeiss Fl's, green in color for a smokin' price. Not much more than you have saved. Zeiss are thought to be the very best optically. Good luck.

Great advice above, try to find a used pair of the big 3. Please don't waste your money on the Cabelas Euros. I would have saved alot of money if I would have just simply bought the best right out of the gate!

i'd hold out for one of the big 3. you can find some good deals out there. i started with leupold then vortex and now swarovski. i was never happy til i got some of the best. wasted a bunch of money in the beginning.
