I think that's what the dept wanted, but commission really wanted 5 day breaks between 1st, 2nd and 2nd, 3rd. That pushed dates back. Originally it was 2 day breaks, they rejected that.

I returned my first choice elk tag, I got my refund but still at 0 for my points. My points should be returning to pre-draw levels based on the wording in the regs and my successful email. Giving it a little time, I'm sure its not an instant process.

lol I was attempting sarcasm by friend duh, 0 tags means 0 tags no matter what draw system you have. Right now NR get 10% which for Moose was around 40 tags this year. So if moved to bonus point system, all NR applicants would have a chance at those 40 tags.

Does anyone know the status of converting Preference to Bonus for Moose, Sheep & Goat? Last thing I heard was in 2022 that the Task group recommended converting to bonus and squaring them. Recommendation was implementation in 2027, this had to be done by the legislature.

No, they refund anyway even if you chose depredation. They will just recharge if you get called and accept a hunt.

There are some areas of the refuge that are open for OTC Turkey hunting, but I don't think they have any Turkeys in them. haha I would look at the refuge website to get the details. From what I understand the kid hunt is amazing, but tough to draw.

Yes, but that was because they extended the deadline by one day last year to a Thursday. Should be a Wednesday per normal schedule.

They should just stop all point sells. Keep the current system for 10 more years to clear the highest point holders. Then convert to 100% bonus/random with the remaining people that have points and no point people.

If I was betting, I would agree with you that E-Tags won't show you early results this year. But I did them anyway just in case they come out early based on the pattern: 2020- Tuesday Night E-TAG 2021 - NO early E-TAG 2022- Tuesday Night E-TAG 2023 - NO early E-TAG 2024 - ? Every other year...

I would pattern it and see. If the pattern with the opener choke is still getting plenty of hits in the Turkey head area, then I can see a slight advantage so the kiddo doesn't have to be quite as precise on the shot. But as a general rule, I always try to get the tightest pattern possible, so...

First time applying for CO, excited. I got 4 points for Elk, Deer, Moose and Pronghorn. Picked up another Deer point, applied for 2nd choice muzzy though. Muzzy Elk in a unit that was 90% at 3 pts last year, so we'll see. Applied for Cow Moose and Muzzy Pronghorn. Fingers crossed.
