Help me pick a scope!

Howdy friends. I recently picked up a new 300WM, looking for some good scope recommendations. I really like the specs of the Leupold VX-5HD 3-15 and VX-6-HD 3-18. anyone have any experience with these? Anything else in the price range I should consider? I really like the idea of the Leupold CDS system, but I’ve heard varied opinions on it. I do have a short list of criteria for the scope

-excellent low light performance
-made in USA/German glass preferred.
-no crazy tactical or long range reticles
-simple to use (I’m not opposed to turrets but they need to be simple enough for me to understand).

For context, I am not a long range hunter. I want to feel confident in my set up to out to 4 or 500 yards, but I am not taking 1000 yard shots. I am primarily a bow hunter so this rifle stuff is a little out of my wheel house. Any input or insight is appreciated!

Schmidt and Bender 3-18 meta. Simple reticle, and will return to zero every time. I’ve had 2 different vx6’s and neither would track. I’ll never own another.

Wow thanks for the reply Doug! I’ll be reaching out!

If you don't mind the weight and the cost nobody can argue about the Schmidt & Bender being the best.

I love Leupold and I've had no issues with their tracking. but I just bought a Zeiss 4-16 with the exposed elevation turret for MOA and so far I'm very impressed. it's the lightest most compact scope I could find to give me what I wanted in a standard weight long range set up.

My Nightforce scopes track perfectly but they're heavy and the optics are good but not spectacular in my opinion.
