My son got drawn for the 3C Youth Cow Elk Hunt. We are yearly Mule deer hunters from Yuma and we mostly desert hunt. We have never been Elk hunting before. I have been scouting the area using my OnX Hunt app. We plan to take a trip up to Show Low in a couple weeks to do some looking around.
The area I am looking into is South of the 260 kind of below Pinedale. The reference points I'm seeing on my map are like Turkey Hill, Hub Point, Scotts Point. Is this a good area to check out?
Any tips we should think about to prepare would be greatly appreciated.
