Your Earliest Hunting Pics

I was looking through my archived photos and found the earliest one I could find of my Dad and uncle with their deer in 1949 in Cedar City, Utah. (I'm 73, so I was about 3 yrs. old, and can faintly remember that family car!) And for some hunters, I think it was common to lash deer on to the fenders when "bringing home the bacon!" Let's see some others!

I See a couple Issues with the Pic!

I Don't see any 14.5 X 50 X 50 Scopes with Turrets on the Guns!

I Don't see any High Dollar Niller/Loin Cloth Camo!

The Doe Looks to be 3 Times Bigger in Body Size than any Does You see now Days!

And if You Stacked that Much Weight on the Modern Day Car You'd Have Some Serious Damage!

I'll even share another! A little further on- my family - Dad, wife, three kids moved to Yerington, Nevada where Anaconda was opening a new copper mine (1952). In this one, the truck is a 1937 Chevy (I definitely remember riding in the back of it to get to deer camp- Dad still had it in 1958- I can remember piling out of the back of it to kill my first buck when I was 12 years old!)

This reminds me of that time in high school when the new kid in town was trying to make a name for himself and didn't realize how he was actually coming off to everyone around him. I love Elk's humor and would hate if he stopped coming around. It was a good thread until the new guy got his undies in a bundle. Earliest of my great grandfather. Born in the Sierra Madre mountains and died in 1939. Coues and Gould turkeys fed the family for years.
