He represents the 8th.district that takes in a large portion of the city of San Francisco. The same district that votes to give safe haven to illegals, take aways guns from law abiding citizens but leaves guns in the hands of gang bangers because you can not profile them while trying to get illegal guns or persons off the streets.

I'll be the first to answer your question about how/why these guys get elected.

It's simple,
The people who vote them in are looking for the Gov to dole out money to them at the expense of those of us who actually work for a living. The recipients of this welfare are very willing to overlook some "minor" character flaws in their elected officials as long as the money keeps getting "re-distrubuted".

They justifiably have to do anything they can to raise money, so they can beat the EVIL conservative Machine. The ends do justify the means, when it comes to Democrat lib's winning out over conservative Repubs..... Judas if this were a Republican, there would be cries for the chair!!! congressional hearings and evidence that it was Bushe's fault! tied into the "poor lintel" of WMD and possibly linked to the assassination of JFK, that we all know was Bush's fault.
