Wyoming Men's One Shot Antelope hunt.

What a bunch of crap. SenateFile SF0003. Sets aside 80 antelope tags for the wealthy. It's for Govenror's and other dignitaries. You or I cannot participate. They have a web page. Now the women of wealth are getting 80 tags also. This is a bunch of #####. The politicians have voted this ##### in.

IMHO you shouldn't or even need to be asking those questions, as their shouldn't be any set aside licenses for any group or person, including the existing ones for that stupid one shot men only hunt! That is the main reason these women now want their "equal share" and got Legislators to introduce the Bill to get 80 for themselves.

That's why I asked...Bad enough they get 160, but are they for prime units also...Which I suspect they will be!

Sorry, as i read your post and thought from your comment that you were saying that 160 wasn't any big deal out of the thousands of tags that Wyoming has for antelope. According to the "one shot" website they hunt units 65,66,67, 68, and 106 in the southern part of the state that has good antelope numbers. The women have been hunting in units 10, 15, and 16 and those units aren't thought of as anything special.

There is no honor in how the men's hunt is conducted, losers dressing like Indian women and men only "stag" events, but many are afraid to take them on in the name of tradition. Politics heavy in this one, the outcome may be predetermined.

I have no problems with the women's hunt as it is, some genuine good work going on there.

I'll be sending emails to all of them for the next "go around" in the next day or two as I get time. One thing people may want to add in their emails like I'm going to is the fact that on another site it was stated that each of the units in that one shot hunt take at least 5 PPs for NRs to draw and resident odds are no more than 50% to draw. That IMHO is a good way to show how these set asides eliminate the ordinary resident, and especially NRs, from getting a tag and spending a lot of money if they could draw one of those tags that isn't even available to us to hunt in Wyoming. Money stats will more than likely at least get their attention, but I have a bad feeling that jm77 is right and this is not going to turn out for the good of the common people who have to draw for a tag!

So far I have gotten one Rep that agrees the Bill is a bad idea and one that thanked me for my input and will take it into consideration. Better than a kick in the shorts I suppose

Setting aside Antelope tags for the wealthy

I wrote an email to all the TRW members as well as Director Talbot and the Wyoming Game and fish Commission. I am against the allocation of Antelope tags to benefit the wealthy and it sets bad precedent. I am not in favor of setting aside an additional 80 tags for wealthy women to have. I encouraged Director Talbot to exchange dialogue with me on this subject.

This matter strictly involves politics and the Legislature, not Director Talbot and the G&F Commission. The G&F didn't have anything to do with introducing this Bill!

If this passes, it will be the Commission that will make the rules. They dang sure have skin in this game!

I guess it would depend on whether the Bill is worded that the G&F "MAY" issue or "Shall" issue those licenses because if it's the latter it would seem to me that there wouldn't be much the G&F could do but issue them even if everyone in the Department, including Director Talbot, doesn't like set asides. I dealt with 175+ regulations that were made under the authorization of various laws on my job for over 30 years, so what am I missing here Jeff? What could the G&F do once that Bill passes to prevent issuing those tags?

The Commission "may" issue up to 160 licenses for two "antelope hunt events".

There's plenty the Commission can do.

Yea, I couldn't remember the exact language last night when I made that other post, but had the time this AM to go back through that deleted thread that got put back up and see that the Bill says MAY, so I agree with you on your comments Jeff! However, I still don't know how they could get around not issuing them and it would probably lead to a lawsuit that would be very ugly.

Just got an email from Joe Macguire. He was the only one in opposition to it. He said now people are getting on opposition to it bandwagon.
