I heard a blurb about this on a local radio station today. The Wyo G&F has set a discussion forum on their website. They're asking for input on their Strategic Plan. There are multiple forums, including wildlife, hunting, fishing, etc. to comment on. It's my understanding that they will compile comments later this year. Here's the link:

LAST EDITED ON Dec-27-17 AT 04:07AM (MST)[p]The first 2 minutes of reading that hunting forum showed me it'll be nothing more than a mental masturbation exercise. Everybody has a gripe and the perfect, latest/greatest method to fix all the perceived problems.

Trying to herd cats...

Can't argue at all with either of you after going on there for a few minutes last night and reading some of the ideas that were posted. One in the elk section had to have been from an outfitter when he said there should be an outfitter pool of elk tags strictly for NRs, LOL! Another guy said everyone over 55 years old should qualify for an OTC license so they can hunt before they croak, LOL!

The Wisconsin DNR holds similar exercises from time to time so they can say that they have sought public opinion. They are simply a placibo. They generally have no value and no change comes from it. Lets hope Wyoming's is different but I wouldn't bet on it

I wouldn't totally discount the comments made to G&F. This is a squeaky wheel State. If the gov't bureaucrats can make a policy based on pubic comments collected on an issue (however hoaky), then they can more easily justify that decision.

+1 teepee.

We can laugh at the process, but it is what it is. Ignoring it because you don't like the setup would be a bad move.

Make your voice heard.

I just went back on and clicked on one of the top areas and see that the G&F has hired two out of state firms to actually run this thing for them, so it may be better than I originally thought.

Waste of money, nonsense idea. The G&F already has plenty of sources for public comment.

That was also my first thought Jeff and then I thought what the heck let's give them a chance and see what happens. However, it seems like government agencies just love to spend money to hire outfits like that for surveys, etc.
