Anyone else getting ready for the opener of archery? We are alomost packed and will leave after work tomarrow. Hopefully get there to set up a few blinds and be ready for Wednesday morning. My 12 year old son is excited to go on his first big game hunt. And, I am looking forward to watching him let the air out of a few antelope.

wish everyone luck.

Bill-good luck on your hunt, and your son should have a blast.

Hopefully he will be "letting the air out" of one antelope, or does he have a buck and a doe tag?

Bill,
I drove by about 11am by your house but figured you were still at work so Good Luck on the trip and hope the boy nails a nice nice Lopes.

Bill,

How was the hunt and did your son get any shots or arrowed a Buck Lope??

Brian,
Had a great short trip. We arrowed a couple doe antelope in unit 61 the first day. Then went up to 63-2 where we had buck tags and Ben got a small buck not much to choice from. This was his first out of state and big game hunt. He had a great time and did well. Dad's proud. Friend had a unit 61 buck tag also, and we found only 1 large buck after he arrowed an average buck. Need to make different plans for next year. We never saw another bow hunter, but every waterhole had atleast one blind on it. I think next year I will put up my blind in the morning on the waterholes I want to hunt if nobody is there.

If you set a blind up in the morning, the goats are going to be spooky and may not come in. You'd be better off pitching yer blind next to one of those empty ones you reference as the goats will probably be used to it if its been there for any period of time.

Bill,
Great picture and Congrats to the son on his first Buck Lope. My friend around the corner from you starts Chemo tomorrow and will be checking on him during the week.
Did Karen tag along or stay home?
