WY Cow Elk Hunt

Since my buddy and I struck out on all out draws we are looking for alternatives to get us in the hills. Any suggestions on an area we could get a reduced cow tag. Is there any specific times that you can cow elk with archery gear?

Generally the month of September, there are a few that are start August 15th, but not many. Take a look at the leftover list and then look on mytopo.com to see how much public land there is. There are also type 4 tags left which are full price cow tags, but there are a few like in unit 11 that would be some pretty good tags if your willing to spend the extra cash.
