Would you take him?

These are pictures of the lope that I killed in 2007. I took these pics the day before opening, but could not get any closer looks. On opening day I had about two seconds to decide to shoot or not before he was gone, and my buddy said take'em, and I did. We knew he went up a long way before he pronged and had nice prongs, but could not tell much more about him. I will post close-ups later, but from what you see here, would you shoot???

Tough call. It would depend on the unit. He looks good but on opening day I wouldn't want to rush anything until I knew EXACTLY what I was squeezing the trigger for. Too many bad surprises I guess.
Can't wait to see how he looks up close.

Wouldn't pull the trigger without better photos or video.

I'd say very weak mass, average prong, a hair above average length.

Maybe 80, tops, but probably less, especially if it ISN'T Arizona or New Mexico.

But again, from those photos, I wouldn't make any bets.

He could potentially get 3 mass measurements under the prong for SCI though, which would boost his score a bit.

75-77....maybe 78?

i don't think that cutter is quite high enough to sneak the third under there, real close though

but if so, might just be able to cheat close to 80" out of that dude

either way, he's a good buck and he's yours

Cheers
