worst weekend

well just got back from what could be the worst weekend of shed hunting ever. Saturday started off pretty good found a few old dead heads and a chewed up horn. Little did i know that luck would end real quick when we got back to the truck i set my brand new bino's on the bumper so that i could through my pack in the back of the blazer. Well leave it to me to get a cpl miles down the road before i decide to stop and get them. So after we turned around and started backtracking back to the spot we had just left watching the ditches all the way back just to find out someone had already came through and picked them up. Needless to say i was pretty upset at myself. The next day i found myself out scouring the hills once again and it only got worse. A cpl hrs into the hike miles from the truck i was suprised by a porcipine who as i was glassing came out of his den not 2 yards from me. Apparantly he was having a worse weekend then i was because he decided he was gonna chase me so half way back to the truck i was running from a darn porcipine u wouldnt believe how fast them little buggurs can run. Just to make things worse the only thing we found all weekend were them two chewed up dead heads and 1 chewed up elk horn what a weekend im in desperate need to vent. lol

What kind of binos were they? I don't mean to laugh at your misfortune but that porcupine story is pretty funny. You'll be telling that story to your grandkids. fatrooster.

Join the club. Last year I sat down to take a break while elk shed hunting. I wound up leaving my $ 220.00 binos on the ground. I noticed much later in my hike and couldn't find them - it's a really bad day when stuff like this happens. Oh, I also didn't find any sheds that day.

That made me laugh out loud at work. I needed that.

sorry about the loss of binocs, but the attempt of assault by the quiller-killer is hillarious. I've never had one charge on me, however, they do emit a funky oder when pushed, yes?

Thanks for the post... maybe making us a few of us reminisce on some of our "worst weekends" will ease your pain/loss. Years ago I had an experience deer hunting where I lost two deer tags from my jacket pocket, had a flat tire, found I had a spare with no air in it; about the time I spotted a respectable 4-pt. buck getting a drink about forty yards away= that qualified for about my "worst hunt" for a long time to come!

I had a Badlands 2200 pack stolen the second day of the archery deer hunt in the La Sal Mnts. back in 04. It had my Leupold spotting scope in it, my camera, GPS, 3 knives, a Gerber, and a few miscellaneous things. The next day, the sight on my bow broke... Needless to say, I just packed up and left at that point.

Can any of those losses be claimed on your insurance? ....I did a similar thing and got my swarovskis stolen by leaving them laying around by my vehicle at a park. I neglected to report and file a claim - should have though.
