WOLF TAG QUESTIONS

IS A WOLF TAG ONLY GOOD FOR A GIVEN DISTRICT....SAY THE SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS......OR IS IT GOOD STATE WIDE AS LONG AS A HUNTER KNOWS THE SEASON DATES ????

ALSO......DOES A GUY NEED TO SHOW A HUNTER SAFETY CARD TO GET A OVER THE COUNTER LICENSE AND A WOLF TAG. ANY THING REQUIRED TO GET TAGS & LIC. AT ALL...........I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP........YD.

The wolf tags that I've bought have been good state wide. You just need to be careful and check the area you're going to hunt to be sure it's still open.

You get them just like any other tag, nothing special required.

To buy a license, all hunters must show proof that they have completed a hunter education course IF they were born ON or AFTER January 1, 1975, unless they have held a license from Idaho or another state.

"Nonresident deer and elk tags, excluding nonresident junior
mentored deer and elk tags, are valid to take a black bear,
mountain lion or gray wolf instead of a deer or elk, if a season
is open for that species, where and when the deer or elk tag is
valid, and if there is an open deer or elk season in that same
unit."

Just in case you want to hunt deer/elk, bear, mnt. lion, and wolf at the same time.
