WMA poachers caught!

I'm from Montana and in todays paper there is an article about how some shed poachers were caught. The fish and game stated that these poachers probably took over 50% of the antlers off the refuge. I just thought i'd share this with everyone to vent some of my frustration. It takes a low life loser to sneak onto a wildlife management area and basically steal horns, not to mention that this year was a bad winter causing enough stress on the elk as it is. I will still be heading there for the opener on May 15th but it simply won't be the same knowing the horns are missing. I doubt it will happen but i know one of the big dogs in the MT fish and game and i'm going to give him a call and see if he will scatter the antlers before the opener, since they are basically stolen property of the managment area. Find the horn Goose!

...stolen property that is now evidence...maybe after the trial and everything is done with.

msy - they will almost for sure not scatter the antlers out over the area but who knows. If it wasn't this year then maybe next year. Just thinking positive. Find the horn Goose!

Maybe they be willing to sell for a small donation. The monies could go to help educate the public about protecting wildlife during this time that they are most vulnerable to human encroachment.

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

They will be auctioned off after a year along with all the other antler evidence from game crimes, they have to keep evidence for a period of time in case the defendants appeal the case.I think they should put pics of these a holes on the back cover of the 2012 hunting regs so we can all get a look at the dumbass's from the year before.

too bad they will be auctioned. Your right about seeing who the holes are, too bad that they won't release the names either. Sooner or later i will find out and you can all be rest assured that i will be posting their names. Find the horn Goose!

Blackfoot Clearwater. its too bad because there isn't a lot of elk that winter there as it is. hope they get thrown to sharks. Find the horn Goose!
