This will be my first year to do some serious archery hunting. I've upgraded bows (Switchback XT) and am more prepared this year than any other. One question I was always puzzled about: you always hear the phrase to hunt downwind; which makes clear sense. However, in the area that I hunt in Texas, deer could come from any which direction of my treestand. Lets take for example I have a food plot with a brush line. I was thinking about putting my treestand on the brushline. If I do so, the brush from where the deer come from is to my North, food plot to my South. Here in Texas, the wind basically blows either from the North or South. Do I want to hunt the south wind which would put me downwind for when the deer are feeding or a North wind to where they don't smell me when entering into the food plot?
All's help is MUCH appreciated.
Thanks
