Who shed hunts in Spanish Fork Canyon?

I'm curious as to who looks for sheds here. I've seen more people wandering in the snow next to the highway than I could count. I've been watching a group of 10-11 bucks all winter long that are fairly close to the highway. Anyways, last Saturday I was watching them (5 had shed but 4 still had horns, all 4-points) when I stumbled across a poached buck. He had a bullet hole in his side and had his horns cut off. It hadn't been there for more than 2-3 days. I called the Fish Cops and they are investigating it. If it was the big one in the group, he would be close to 190". I hope you morons get caught!

I hope they get caught as well....its unfortunate that people are so obsessed with having a nice set of horns in their hands, that they are willing to poach these majestic creatures. Keep us posted if you find out anything else about this unfortunate incident.

Bev42,

Over the past two weeks or so I have seen all those guys walking the side of the road there too. One day as I was driving through there I saw around 4 or 5 trucks parked on the side of the road. One guy was looking for sheds no more than 5 feet off the side of highway 6! I can't believe what some people will do for a few sheds. Apparently some guys don't even care if they are sheds, they want the horns so bad they will kill one of the big bucks that have made it through 3 hunting seasons and the winter, not to mention all of the traffic they have dodged on the highway there. It makes me sick. I hope they catch him too.

poachers suck!! I hope they get nailed!!!!!! just a little north of Ya. Squeek

I think the people on the side of the highway are picking up pop cans. I was out for a drive yesterday and noticed that now the snows gone, there's pop cans and garbage everywhere in the ditches. In B.C. anyways. As for the poacher, what a jerk.
