I am Pretty Stoked !! Almost as excited as LAst night sitting in a Bear Stand and Having 2 nice bear come in and a 130# Cougar... All on Video

Unit is 27-2, It's a Easy Hike in, Ithink it's 10 Miles from the Trailhead to the Unit Boundary and then 5 miles from there to the Base Camp. Nothing like Crossing Shale slides And Rock cliffs with a 70# pack on ..... I have Pictures Of the Unit that I'll post if People don't know the Extream Unit it is.

Sounds like an adventurous hunt, congratulations ... do you do alot of backpack hunting? Any suggestions on must haves vs. leave behind items? I am looking to do a backpack hunt myself and was looking for a starting point (food/gear/etc). Thanks for any suggestions.

Kicker, Unit 27 is AWSOME :

I'm not familiar with the Franklin D mine. I wouldn't mind getting any Info you have from that Area. Unit 27-2 isn't a Secret were the Rams are, It's jsut how to get into them and what a Guys willin gto do to get one. My first trip in is a Short one but hopefully a Successfull one.

Sonny, I have about the Most Detailed List a Guy could have. I created it when I went to AK last year. I'm actually taking that list and Making it fit for my sheep hunt.

Not to Spam Info but on my site in the Big game section there is a Good post on "14 day sheep hunt" my buddy did last year. I bumped it and We're adding to it for this year. Lost of good info. I'll PM you the Exact link.

Other then That I do a Bit of Backpacking. I mostly do Pack "OUT's" when we shoot something we Debone it and Pack it out. I have done a Few pack in couple over nighters. This year I'll be doing more then I've ever done. With Sheep hunting and a 1 week Pack in Colorado Deer hunt I'll know something if nothing else this year
