Whitetails East of Grangeville

How's the Whitetail deer herd doing East of Grangeville? We use to hunt there every year, until the wolves got so bad. It was, that years ago, we'd see tons of deer, and the last time we hunted there (5 years ago), the wolves were howling every night, and we seen 15 deer the hole week, with dead deer carcauses everywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

The wolves are still here. :-( Until we can start shooting them we will have no game....

That's too bad, it used to be a great hunt. We started going way up north to bonners ferry, and now we've heard they had a terrible winter kill! What in the heck are we going to do, besides shooting wolves in the belly!

5 years ago is when they had the ????'blue tongue disease' caused by the gnats. That may be the reason for all the carcases, but just a guess. i hunted 11a that year for muleys and there were dead whiteys EVERYWHERE! the aroma in the air was great!

They have bounced back very well in the area, but can say specifically YOUR area.
