Whitetail Rut up North

Going to Unit #1 hunting whitties at the end of this month. Last time we where up there, we hunted the Nov 13th-19th. When we had to come home, the bucks where rutting like crazy. My question is should we come the week before Thanksgiving or the week after. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I hate to come and miss all the fun.

I always find the 18th to 22nd to be the best times in November in North Idaho. Good luck, the deer are a little hard to find this year.

I'll second that. Winter kill appears to have been pretty bad for the whiteys as well as the mulies...

Are you guys talking more about north of CDA as some posts from this spring made it sound like they held up pretty well, at least around the Grangeville, Kamiah, etc. areas. Was this wrong?

I know the population is down from about St. Maries north. I couldn't tell you how the population is doing around Grangeville, Kamiah.
