whitetail help

This will be my first time hunting whitetail and for that matter out of the state of Utah. From what I have read it sounds like Region A might be a good starting point. I don't have any preference points so my options are limited. I am willing to pay a reasonable trespass fee if it gets my son and I into some better hunting. If anyone has any contact info or a starting point it would be much appreciated. If anyone needs any help in Utah I can help!

Whitetails can be found all over the state, but they are mainly down in the river and creek bottoms as compared to the higher elevations. That many times, if not most of the time, means on or near private property where people are using that water to irrigate farm fields. Many ranchers don't like whitetails and will allow you to take them for little to no money for access as compared to mulies, elk, etc. I'd first look on the G&F site to see the units where separate buck whitetail tags are offered and then narrow it down to what ones you can get access to them. I know in Region M where I hunt I could fill my tag easily just by asking anyone along the river for access, but I go out for mule deer because I can hunt whitetails for 3 months here in MI.

116 might be a option, the Pitchfork Ranch lets people shoot Whitetails and there is a lot of Whitetails along the Greybull River. 124 might be another option too with all the walk-in areas around Burlington and Otto along the Greybull River.
