Whisky barrels

Anyone ever use one of these? I've had mine for about a year. It does seem to give a smoothness to bottled whisky.

On the gift list know. Visiting with the wife about this she reminded me that I'd need to leave the whiskey in the barrel long enough to age. Damnit if she ain't right!!

Yes I am wondering how it does with Good scotch does it age well in that barrel? Or is it just for convenience or after you get drunk and can't open the bottle but you can push on the lever.

It does well with good scotch. I have a smaller barrel for that.

Dunno about the drunk part as I haven't been drunk since 1987.
